Denny, I am a member of Qantas frequent fliers and earn points at the rate of one per air mile and a minimum of one per dollar using my visa card. Each flight also earns a minimum of 1000 points no matter how short the flight is. Since 1999 I have used points for 3 return flights Brisbane / Adelaide, 1 return flight Brisbane / Hong Kong, 1 return Brisbane / Bangkok in Nov 03 and have enough points left for another Brisbane / Bangkok return. Like you if someone has a crazy cheap fare I forgo the points. John

Is the Golden Beer Bar the one on the corner, right hand side as you leave Nana car park?? John

I normally fly Qantas/BA but for my last trip flew Thai Brisbane- BKK-Brisbane. No complaints about the service or meals on Thai. No seat back entertainment was a pain in the arse. I have no idea who manufactures the MD 11 but the last aircraft I was so uncomfortable sitting in was an C130 Herc. I was sitting on the end of the 5 seats in the centre and had the same seat both ways. I feel Thai must have skimped on the seats or designed them for non falang passengers. Back to Qantas/Ba in the future. John

The Jan Bar has cheap clean rooms right in walking street. Run by 2 Australian blokes. Good falang food on tap too. www.thejanbar.com John

While I realise any matches for lifts etc would be conducted via IM behind the scenes my lack of response for the last three trips to LOS and the perceived lack of response to other posters makes me wonder if anyone ever matches up for a share taxi. Perhaps this space could be better utilised to chronicle the exploits of The Wallabys and the All Blacks in the upcoming rugby world cup. I suppose you others can use it too. John

I booked and paid over the net for a ticket with Thai, Brisbane BKk return and paid via Visa AUD $1292.92 yet all my e-ticket paperwork shows a total price of AUD $1662.90. Perhaps it has something to do with IATA rules on discounting?????? John
