  1. He was actually nominated for an Oscar for . . . The Buddy Holly Story
  2. Terence Stamp I believe there are also SEA gogos shown in: The Beach American Gangster The Deer Hunter
  3. I'm always looking for a way to steer things towards older movies. For instance here I'm going with Pat Hingle (in a great supporting performance).
  4. Just watched the highlights from Flyers/Habs game. The amazing hockey just keeps coming. Loved the goal by Mike Richards. He drew out the goalie and got past him. He's sliding on his belly, no Habs players near him, looking at the puck and an empty net in front of him, so he get's up and puts it in. He had a great game. We got a nice old school match up for the Final: Chicago vs Philly. No predictions from me, I'm just gonna enjoy it.
  5. Nice movie from Indian director Mira Nair. Dutton played a carpet cleaner along with a guy named Denzel, but I'm going with . . . Roshan Seth
  6. Seriously, you knew Lira Angel was in Deep Cover off the top of your head?
  7. Normally at this point I'd just haul out my Sharks jersey, but how can you not root for the Canadians (unless you're a Flyers fan)? They look destined to shock everybody, plus Halek is playing out of his mind. Then again, look at what the Flyers accomplished. An amazing game 7 vs the Bruins. Should be a great series.
  8. The headline on ESPN.com says it all: Hab-Solute Shocker. My Pens played like crap. I give Montreal all the credit in the world. An 8 seed who beat the number one team in the NHL (Washington) and the defending Stanley Cup Champs (Pens). They are the ultimate underdogs, and I hope they go all the way. Sort of overshadowed by the Habs, how about them Flyers? They put Mike Leighton between the pipes for his first ever play-off start and he stops 30 shots. A series that looked like it was wrapped up with a pretty black & gold bow for the Bruins is now heading to game 7. Fl
  9. I'd be rooting for the Habs if they weren't playing the Penguins. Great Cinderella story. Alas, I think Midnight is approaching, and the Habs will turn into a pumpkin after game 7. That said, it would be cool to watch the Canadians and the Blackhawks in an old school Stanley Cup final.
  10. Yeah, I know, it was in all the papers. The captain of that gold-medal-winning Canadian team is still active in the Stanley Cup play-offs - Sidney Crosby of the defending NHL Champion Pittsburgh Penguins. I'm rooting for him, though I'm sure the idea of an American rooting for a Canadian in the NHL play-offs is too much for your brain to digest. Personally I don't give a shit, but it doesn't suprise me. Lots of people want to be able to say they attended a huge sports event like the world cup. Wembley Stadium is packed every year for the NFL's annual trip to London, but that d
  11. In May, huh? With the NBA and the NHL play-offs in full swing, AND the second month of baseball season, our sports plate is already crowded. Sorry Joe, gotta file this with badminton, darts, professional bowling and The World Cup.
  12. I just watched the highlights. What a job by Halak and the Hab's defensemen. Also a monster choke job by the Caps. They dominated the NHL all season, had the best powerplay in the entire league with Ovie and Backstrom leading the charge, yet against the Habs in the first round of the play-offs their power play was 1 for 33!!! Guess I jinxed Ovie when I posted his picture. The Canadians are the first 8 seed (under the new play-off format) to come back from a 3-1 game deficit to beat a 1 seed. One of the biggest upsets in NHL history. Serious props to the men from Montreal. So no
  13. Wow, I guess I should have posted this picture: The Habs have pushed the Caps to game 7. While the West has played out pretty much by the numbers (still waiting on the Coyotes/Red Wings), the East is topsy-turvy. The Flyers (7) and the Bruins (6) have already upset the 2 and 3 seeds. If the Canadians can pull off the big upset in game 7 vs the top seeded Capitols, it might be smooth skating for my Pens into the championship series - "might" being the operative word there.
  14. Can't disagree, and I think he deserves a picture on this thread. How about the Sabres? How about them Canucks?
