  3. I ate a Salmon and Cucumber/ Granary bread sandwich today, made from the finest tinned red salmon and it was lovely
  4. I am a retired gyneocologist, but I still like to keep my hand in.
  5. now that is a bit too far fetched
  6. I work as an international spy fo M15, by day, and deliver chinese takeaways in the evening, as the pay is not great.
  7. Read the bit you highlighted. done that >>good Now you will see in plain English that a I said A DRINK I did not say DRUNK or BLOTTO. In the UK, 2 pints of medium stength beer is around the limit for an aveaged sized man correct ????? yes, that is correct So, if I have a 2 bottles of San mig light, then ride a bike, I shall not be drunk or incapable. Do try and read the posts, things will make a lot more sense if you do.
  8. The worst thing about riding bikes in Pattaya, is when guys who have never ridden a bike before, start for the first time in a place like Pattaya. I have seen young guys jump on racing bikes and big bikes and have really no idea on how to ride them and have never obviously done a safety course in their own country. Pattaya is an extremly dangerous place to drive any vehicle let alone a motorcycle. You need eyes everywhere, and must assume that ther people as well as yourself might make mistakes, or have no regard for you on the road. The helmets supplied with most rentals are next to useless in terms of strength and many of the bikes are not road worthy, yet many drive them away without checking everything, including brakes. if a vehicle is unsafe, it matters least whether you have had a drink or not, but whether you can stop in time without losing control. I drive very slowly these days, and dont take risks at junctions anymore as there is always someone who is taking the same risk too.
  9. I drive close to Phimai on route to Selaphum - Roi Et. I have a sat nav with Thai map (Garmin) but I went by your first option route, not rout 7 m/way. Leave about 6 am from Pattaya and the roads pretty clear. Need to watch out the otherside of the mountain for police checks. Been done twice for NO international licence, 500 baht. No much you can do about it if you are travelling by day. Driving at night a lot more stressfull though
  10. was he giving you a lift ??? Hope you were wearing a helmet
  11. I use Jeyes industrial strength cleaning fluid on my tackle and have not had any problems
  12. I have, and I cried through both of them. Especially Jaws, those romantic films always bring tear. I felt sorry for him in the end when they kill him. He meant no harm, as opposed to that little cunt ET, who was almost certainly a gay extraterrestrial being and had the hots for Elliot.
  13. I dont think it is quite as simple as just picking out one or two bars out of 50 odd in Walking street to compare prices between the street and the 3 gogos in the LK.Buakao area. They dont appear that exensive in the area and Oasis has been doing a two drinks for one happy hour for some time in the evening. I think that its a good idea, for more gogos to start up in that area and if they are going to succeed then they will have to compete with Champaigne and Oasis which are now well established and quite busy. The is with walking street, is that it is saturated and some of the gogos are empty when you walk in, whilst others packed. I would seldom go there just to visit one bar, but I do like to get away from the area after an hour or two personally, as it is a bit too, touristy for my liking. The last night I soent at Champagne agogoi, it was buzzing and 4 of us just about got a seat. Loads going on , both centre stage and the corner shows too. As far as chayapoon goes, I would like to see the whole street pulled down and re built, its a shit hole.
  14. I have been staying at Le Katai for a number of years now. I know the now (ex owner, Andy, and new own Danny) both good guys. It is well situated on Lenkee, the rates are very reasonable, the new part is very nice inded and last time in June I had the suite. Staff very firendly, the food downstairs is excellent and there is a handy entrance via an alleyway to both sides of the building rooms. I is very laid back there. OK its not 5 star, but I have absolutely no complaints and will continue to stay there. Its very easy to book, via email and I always get a response from Danny within 24 hours. They get quite busy as times, especially over xmas, so best to book in advance. They do not have a pool, but then there is Opey De Pace right opposite and a couple of other hotels that let non guests use their pools for a small fee.
  15. send ThaiDave a pm, he might have a room at the Canterbury Tales, a couple of minutes walk from LK Metro
  16. I heard they were selling them at the New Plaza
  17. when it pops up, cut and paste the URL ar the top of the screen. Then go to your windows security and block it or if you have a pop up blocker, set to off or block the URL address. Thats what I would do anyay. One way or another it is possible to block any website. It might lead you to another site called "Arsebandits Poker party" which you may prefer
  18. Fuck, you got to be quick on the buttom, I did OK though Still not convinced that Armstong ever landed on the moon though
  19. Jack on the rocks, San Mig light beer, Gin & Tonic, and SangSom & Soda mainly I like a few of those huge cocktails they make in the Sailor bar for 60 baht a throw, before heading out on the town.
  20. I must say, that I have only ever encountered one really obnoxious American. I remember the time well, it was in the afternoon in a bar along Beach road. I was minding my own business having stopped off for a cool beer, when this old red kneck type, insisted on talking to me. He wanted to convince me for some reason that he was some sort of big shot in the CIA before he retired and insisted on trying to impress me how tough he was, and how knowledge he was. It got to the point where I had to ask him to STFU, as he eally began to annoy me. He did actually shut up, which pleased me. I left after finishing my beer. That said, I could count on both hands the number of my fellow countrymen that have pissed me off in Pattaya by acting like complete arseholes. I get on with most people and enjoy a bit of light hearted converation at a bar, but I have NO time whatsover for idiots that try to impress me about how well they know Thailand, or how they were in the SAS, or how hard they are or how they dont have to pay the girls or how much they can drink. Who gives a fuck.
  21. I had a dyslexic manageress in the restaurant and she sacked my cook, twice.
