If from the USA, which state (it does make a difference, especially if you reside in California) Does your country have a tax treaty with Thailand? 4. Nirvana has a very good review in the hotel section.
  5. Sandy Spring gives you one free Tiger draft beer per day. Thats better than a Thai ABF.
  6. Sugar is fermented into alcohol, carbohydrate is Carbon plus Water. That is (CH2O)*n Cellulose (C6H12O6)*n SugarsC6H12O6 Alchol C2H5OH so it is not strictly a cabohydrate. If it is CH3OH don't drink it.
  7. I do need A/C at night as I consider 95f and 100% humidity about my limit. Is the room above the bar girl friendly?java script:emoticon('') java script:emoticon('') Thanks for all the replies.
  8. I keep on reading about cheap hotels, like the Sawadee on soi 11 for 300 baht (but it lists for 1000 baht on this site). The acomadation introduction writes abour rooms at 164 baht. For the REALLY cheap (and poor) visitor what are the rock bottom prices, do they include A/C and in room showers? I don't watch TV since my head is usually elsewhere.
  9. My Cholex (chinese Rolex) works fine. It is an automtatic, you have to keep wearing it to keep it wound up. Cost $25 and I got a discount for paying in US$ There is one thing, copies can be confiscated by most customs including UK, USA and Singapore if the see you wearing it or find it in your luggage.
  10. I used to enjoy seeing a photo of on eof the girls when I sogned in. Now I miss it. How about it?
  11. If you live in Las Vegas you should look at SF as an exit, there are non stops and better flight options to HK and BKK whereas LAX is just out of range of a 747 for the fuel reserve.
  12. You can sell them for about $300US per 30,000 miles (even though it is illegal). I am also a FF on Star Alliance. One RT with all the add-ons is one free US trip on United. Upgrades and lounges are a big bonus. The question on courier miles. Airlines used to give FF miles but dropped that about three years ago. I don't know of any airline that gives you FF miles for a courier run but there may be some.
  13. Mentioned by D. A. Blyler in an article as 450 baht with AC and TV. Seems reasonable.
  14. The major problem I have with the board is finding the new messages, not the replies. Is it possible to list by first date, or put the date on the title, or have a chronological section where postings are listed latest first? Apart from that the board works OK.
