Dynasty inn soi 13 pattaya
FoxtrotOscar replied to nivla's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Used it a few times, no complaints really at the price I got. Not sure if they are still doing the deals but if you pre booked for a number of days good discounts on offer - email them they're friendly enough. Rooms I always found a bit dark, due to the dark wood finish. Open showers with good pressure which I loved, never an issue with hot water. As above, guest friendly, but I think they might try and charge for more than one but don't quote me on that as wasn't my thing. If your looking for a really good nights sleep ask for one of the rooms in the middle, you're just missing a view of soi 13. I usually took a room over looking the soi, never had an issue but the noise coming up from the Wonderful Bar at the end could keep you awake if you're fussy. The wifi could be hit and miss. I usually found myself having to connect to a floor above or below, when it works it works well, but it's free so you know. The rooms can sometimes smell a bit musty when you first arrive, once the air con gets going this seems to clear, I think maybe just the rooms sitting empty for a while. As cleanliness goes, good to fairly good. You might have to clear a few cobwebs from the corners cause the poor ladies cannot reach that high, but everything from their reach down is usually ok :-) never had an issue with security here, the girls on the front desk even ran out one night to pick me up from the floor and pour me into the lift when I unfortunately had a bit too much. As above comment the rooms are not big but if your just looking for a sleeping and fun base, it'll work. If your looking for quality living space, maybe not. There's a video on YouTube of the rooms. -
Starbucks's Good coffee for 100 Baht
FoxtrotOscar replied to BigDUSA's topic in Restaurants and food
Starbucks coffee I don't rate, but have you tried McDonald's? I never eat at McDonald's but their coffee is bloody good, friend got me addicted to it (also a Starbucks hater). Commenting on the European McDonald's, not sure if the coffee in Thai stores are the same, never used. -
Just see a few pics of the refitted 747-400 cabins on Thai's Facebook (UK) page. Shows new first class suites and all economy seats fitted with IFE, wonder if they'll also have the boxes under the seats as I'm sure this aircraft will be back on the LHR - BKK route before the 380 which may never appear on this route. Strange thing is, they've refitted biz class which I would sometimes splash out on if a good year with another version of the angled lie flat seat (170° recline). Strange decision.

Your best option for a 29 night visit...
FoxtrotOscar replied to spike's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Just had a quick look at their website and your right, this really is the Ryanair of hotels, for example got to pay extra for towels, cleaning, in room safe and......air conditioning! -
Fully appreciate what your saying about it not being as hungry, but be careful that you're not leaving yourself open to a little vulnerability or something with an older version.

The Olympics, London 2012 - A time to be proud
FoxtrotOscar replied to Siam Sam's topic in Sports Talk
Really enjoyed it, well done. I think the poor Queen wasn't too happy about the time of night, she looked terrible throughout but you must admire her sense of humour for allowing the Bond bit. To think the majority of performers were volunteers, and real NHS staff and patients for the childrens bouncy bed bit - they had a right good laugh, brilliant! -
Scottish couple decided to go to Spain to thaw out during a particularly icy winter. They planned to stay at the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier. Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules. So, the husband leftGlasgow and flew to Barcelona on Thursday, with his wife flying down the following day. The husband checked into the hotel.. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an email to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her email address, and without realizing his error, sent the email. Meanwhile, somewhere in Blackpool , a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral. He was a minister who died following a heart attack. The widow decided to check her email expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted. The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read: To: My Loving Wife Subject: I've Arrived Date: October 16, 2008 I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you are allowed to send emails to your loved ones.. I've just arrived and have been checked in. I see that Everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then! Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was. P.S. Bloody hot down here!

From Thai UK Facebook today, looks like London will get it but late 2013 Sawasdee krub! Some of you asked us which routes the first A380s will be used on. Here's the answer! In the first phase our A380s will operate on Bangkok – Hong Kong (HKG) and Bangkok - Singapore (SIN) for 6 weeks, starting from 28 October 2012 to 12 December 2012 After that, Thai Airways will turn our A380s to operate on Bangkok (BKK) – Frankfurt (FRA), Bangkok (BKK) – Tokyo Narita (NRT) and Bangkok (BKK) – Paris (CDG) routes. London will hopefully follow late 2013!

Agree, would choose EVA over Thai if looking for a direct to BKK. Haven't gone biz with Thai due to the price when EVA is offering a cheaper option, a more modern comfortable plane with a biz class that may not have the quality of food as Thai but the seat apparently is every bit as good as Thai's. But then EVA are in the process of joining Star Alliance, so maybe Thai will offload passengers to EVA and vice versa so no need for the bigger capacity.

I'm sure they'll chop and change to demand, happened to be those days for the dates I entered in April, had a quick look at a week around 16th May and got this edit: just had a thought could they be cancelling and moving passengers onto other flight? Thai perhaps? Not sure if they have agreement..

Looks like Monday and Wednesday, went to Eva and put some dates in, no flights on Monday or Wednesday from LHR to BKK and same on return.

Stayed at the Page 10, the other end of the soi, but can confirm as far as the road is concerned it's complete and resurfaced.
