  2. so that a person can exchange baht after a VAT refund prior to departure? I have always departed at 5am and never paid attention on prior trips.
  3. Since I have always departed around 5am,I have never noticed if there is a currency exchange in the departure area after passing passport control. If not,the baht from VAT refund would travel home and back with me for my next visit instead of being exchanged. Is there a currency exchange open 24/7 in that area?
  4. I have stayed several times and always recommend it.I will miss Boem and Kim is always pleasant to talk with when I run into him in town. The place has a high occupancy rate.I can't imagine 2 more buildings though.I like it just as it is.
  5. Instead of waiting at the intersection for a BB to fill,it's better to walk a block toward Jomtien along the school wall to the 1st small soi (2 mins) and in front of the eyeglass shop, hop on there. Many drive by with only a few or no passengers because they can usually get a good load from that point and don't have to wait in that line of 6 or so BBs for their turn.
  6. Thanks again Tom. I should have been more specific in my question.I should have asked if anyone had made a purchase at the Apple Store and received the necessary paperwork for the VAT refund.I have done a refund only once and as you described,it was a breeze, even at 4:30 am (thankfully Burger King was open at that hour too). Thanks again for the detailed explanation and I'm sure other folks here can benefit from your detailed effort to explain it for me. Your explanation will go in my Pattaya favorites for an easy explanation if anyone ask me.
  7. From your experience,do you think it will be difficult to claim the VAT?I am exporting it after all and I would assume the Apple Store would furnish the necessary paperwork.I would be anxious to hear from others who have bought items from them. Thanks again.
  8. Holy crap-that's good to know. Thanks Tom.That may make it more affordable. It's USD 499 here=15300b more or less.Or USD 449=13800b for the refurb w/same warranty. If local taxes aren't to steep, saving the VAT would make it a better price. 9. I am 60 yo and on bike #21 in 20 years of riding.I haven't HAD to sell a bike for any reason (yet) but I imagine it must be difficult to sell testosterone bike like a V-Max.There are steriods via injection,so I'm told,to replace that test. loss.I have friends who have been in that position financially that had to sell their bikes and I know it was hard on them.Bikes mean different things to different people and I have never been attached to one particular bike, obviously. Coupled with a forced return to another country,I also imagine that would be hard to swallow so cut him some slack.
  10. I know it hasn't been released in Thailand yet with Singapore being the closest, but I was curious if there are any issues with reception, ect. Also,I was told there is an Apple store in the Central Festival Mall.I am new to the iPhone and wasn't interested in Apple when I last visited,so I didn't look for the store. Are the prices for Apple products the same as Apple products elsewhere?
  11. So what you're saying is I may have been moving in on some of HIS action! LOL! I know there are many old hands in Pattaya that have been around far longer than me but I'd venture a guess that every one has been fooled at least once in a photo or in person or even brought one back to the room. I just took his reply as a homophobic statement-no problem and I can confirm that Cake is no longer on my list of must sees.Tricked by Hammer ,damn you.
  12. And if I was/am attracted to LB or gay,is that an issue for you? With 11k posts,I assume you've been around for a while and you'll tell me you've never been fooled in person or in photos? Keep whistling.
  13. Funny you should say that because I thought there was a possibility of that but no obvious Adams Apple but it is difficult to be 100% from 12 time zones away. Thanks Dave,2x.
  14. Just today, the PM said Suvarabhumi SHOULD NOT flood. Now it's SHOULD NOT instead of will not. That's comforting & reassuring.
  15. Dave,Cherry Bar webmaster,came through for me.
  16. Thanks Rik-already did that and her pic isn't posted there and I have sent an inquiry and waiting for a response. Not sure if she's an employee or just attends all the parties.Very attractive, dark skinned long hair always dresses nicely-very effeminate.
  17. LOL,Thanks. This is a fully clothed pic of a girl at Cherry Bar.
  18. and if that's out of line,I apologize in advance.
  19. Supply and demand and as mentioned, gouging when possible.I doubt the increases will prevent anyone from visiting but like you mentioned,it's a cost of doing business and moving that cost along to customers is normal IMO.If your cost to do business increases by all rights you should pass those costs along to your customers. If people have an issue with that they can stay home.
  20. What he said.
  21. Mick,how about onboard "facilities"?
  22. Great pics-wish I was there.Belated Happy Birthday.
