  1. 5 trips on Air Asia and no issues, all international.
  2. I booked for April 25 arrival and they quoted the 7th night free on confirmation e-mail.
  3. Yes,they have had that special for a few years now.Starts again April 15 or so.
  4. I have used the Sportsman 3x and their van and service is excellent,as is the breakfast and lunch provided.
  5. Small world indeed. It is a beautiful city and having Progreso only 17 minutes away via the 8 lane, nearly empty, road is great. Lots of folks do what you do and park the car on the secure US side and wander over and back.In fact, some folks do just that to get their entry docs and vehicles done and then just breeze through the following morning and avoid the long a.m. lines for entry.Sorry for the OT but it is nice to share common ground. I DO like Mexican food though!
  6. I was hoping a cavity search would have been included in the $100 entry fee but kidding aside,I have only heard positive comments from several sources, both online and in person.
  7. That is funny because I lived in Merida for a year and also spent 2 years in LaPaz and Cabo in Baja.Tastes vary by region but some of the comments about salsas here are amusing.I never stopped to eat in Hermosillo, just passed through,so I can't comment. The Yucatan area is a different ball game than the remainder of mainland Mexico, from people to taste preferences. But I have to agree somewhat with an earlier post that said you can generally judge a Mex restaurant by its chips and salsa. But in Mexico, prepare yourself for some seriously thick chips, which like.
  8. That was a great post. Thanks for the pics and update, epecially around 2nd Rd.
  9. I always choose Bell when it works for my schedule.Otherwise Mr T or Toom.
  10. That is great-thanks for sharing.I will make that a stop when I get time in BKK.
  11. Thanks rick-after seeing the 1st pic of -her- in the link you posted, the face was a dead giveaway. It is amazing what a different angle can show.
  12. As far as I know,no songtaews have WiFi but a few may have HDMI.Sorry, couldn't resist. It does state free Wifi on their site. Like you said,5 mins by bus does sound closer if no traffic on the WS end of Beach Road.

I was in Costco today and was handed the Black Friday weekend flyer and the Seagate 2TB Freeagent Goflex external drive is $69.99.As I mentioned earlier,Costco does not have the best computer related prices but this just cements what I said earlier regarding price points. Now,I believe that this price will be offered Black Friday weekend and possibly go lower, along with the 3TB price. 14. I just noticed something else. There is no longer a "mark all forums or content as read" button.
  15. Same for me.I'm sure it will be addressed soon enough. That was a handy feature going directly to the 1st unread post. I just noticed this at the top right of the "New Content" page,"Go to first unread post".I don't remember seeing that before on the new content page since it brought you there automatically. This is a new one on me too,"The number of opening quote tags does not match the number of closing quote tags". After the last upgrade, if you hit a thread which had come up from "View New Posts", it took you to the last entry you had read. Now we are back to it showing the first entry in the thread.
  16. 1 way to save some on elec costs is to flip off the switch in the bathroom. It controls the water heather or something that uses the juice.

No,not in Mexico, the USA.Go to slickdeals or other sites. Not Google.Electronics prices in Mexico are absurd.Once again,2TB under $70 and 4 days ago,3TB for $100.Long after the flood affected prices. Since you can't or won't do the requisite search,I will do just a tiny bit of legwork for you but from now on,it's your responsibility to prove yourself wrong.1st (and only needed) search on slickdeals found this gem for you and it USB 3.0: http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3544032 As a point of reference,Costco prices are usually a bit above others when computer related. And as I said earlier, they may or may not drop for Black Friday. Usually so but may not due to floods but current prices are as I stated w/1 search. 2nd link for your perusal: http://slickdeals.net/newsearch.php?forumchoice%5B%5D=9&q=external+hard+drive&showposts=0&archive=0&titleonly=1&firstonly=1
  19. On that same street, there is a TexMex place that is good.Run by a former San Diego cop,Sam.Has daily specials and he brings many ingredients back from Mexico. Also delivers.Prices are reasonable. He owned restaurants in SD and Tijuana.
  20. I actually flew into Utapao back in the day when it was an airbase. That's how I got to Pattaya the 1st time.

External hard drives are dirt cheap now with 2TB at $65 and 3TB at $100.I expect a slight drop from those prices on Black Friday in 13 days.I haven't been paying attention to prices internal HDs though.
  22. Does the military have a presence there?
  23. Yes.Correct.Never mentioned Thailand.True. Reading my entire post,it should have been obvious that I was referring to the USA when I concluded,"I am referring to the ones I have seen in the USA".Never mentioned Thailand now did I?
  24. I can't remember if I ever exchanged money at the departure airport (departure area)heading to my destination.Possibly in the 70s or 80s.I walk by now just for a laugh as the exchange rates are usually 65-70% of the rate on arrival in whatever country. But there are always people in line. And on top of the awful exchange rate, their is a surcharge of a few $$$ on top to add insult to injury.I am referring to the ones I have seen in the USA.
