The maggott Willie Walsh always stared he would not compete with 'Economy Airlines' and now what do we see on the LFR BKK routes? they are competing withe the Economy Airlines, using their flying prison cell 777's with the wing exit blocked to get an extra seat in and leg room so small its uncomfortable. They have openly stated they are concentrating on Business and first class and will make thoe areas on their flights bigger and reducing the space for economy. I mean how can they reduce space any more? have people sitting on each others laps? Ive always despised BA and even more so when

I cant see them staying at the top for long as according to my info their economy class A380's seats are taking a real hammering. When I flew them last October it was obvious the seat foams were already wearing thin. I also emailed them about it. I do hope when they are in for a major service they replace them. Its a measure of their success I suppose. In my email to them (and also to Airbus Industrie) I also commented on the armrests only going vertical and not going right back with the seat as it can make things quite uncomfortable. Must Check service dates for their A380's !

I remember their advert FLY, BUY DUBAI. I did like the whole series though

First time to Pattaya
Goldpanner replied to starbuck1968's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
My advice? walk around the bars. The worst thing is when you find a Miss world, pay the Bar fine and walk off arm in arm. THEN 20 yards down the road you reaise that your Miss world was Miss world 5 years ago and theres a Bar full of girls a lot prettier. and so it goes. DO NOT FORGET THE CONDOMS, MOUTHWASH !!AND REHYDRATION PACKS. -
They have Dagenham Dustbins in Thailand too?? Poor sods.

Bizarre isnt it?. I was asked a question about when to book and I gave some advice based on my experience about how busy New Year and Chinese New Year can get and how prices can go up, and was then pounced on and insulted for having the temerity to warn the guy that asked the questions. I post on this specific forum hoping to help guys save a few quid. My advice isnt compulsory !! I try to help. Kuwait Air? Strangely before Saddam attacked Kuwait I would fly to Bangkok at least onec a year on them. Their service wasnt actually that bad apart from the prayers coming through the PA before t

No dear it seems that you seem to be unable to comprehend what I posted either, or even take a look at some of my earlier posts where I showed error fares which is what you quoted, OLD fares. I have to write a long post as I know you simply dont understand Fare ratings or Error Fares or Chinese New year problems. All my original post above stated was for people to be carefull when booking as Fares can, will, and DO go up around the Chines New year period. I was asked a question and I gave some advice based on experience of Chinese New year and the expectation of CNY 2018 I gave advice b

You seem to have taken my post as some sort of affront to anyone flying on cheapies? That is wrong, as I said "But I do understand that some people like them. To each their own.". I was passing on my experience of flying on those airlines within the last 5 years and not as you wrongly suggest using arguments from 10 years ago. Just do your research, its all there on Google. ButI also recognise that everyone has their own standards and what someone classes as a crap flight will, to another, be OK. I would always travel Gulf Air in the 80's and early 90's when they were flying Tristars but

Yes I agree some people like the cheapies, many years back so did I but not now. Some people (like me) just dont like flying on airlines serviced by Chinese or East Europeans. I wont fly on China Southern ever again after being put through their flight change down to Bangkok. Rude wasnt the word for it my wife had to physically stop me punching one guard who forcibly pulled my walking stick off me to put through his X Ray machine (that couldnt even see through it anyway). And Jet Airways? total and utter chaos. I dont know how their planes ever get to destinations, I suspect they still navig

Beginning of the year has always been a problem. It starts with Christmas and new year which carries the High season fares into mid to late January. then you have around 2 weeks low to mid season, then BANG Chinese new year can block things out for soetimes up to 3 weeks. you then have 2 to 3 weeks quiet period then BANG again into school half term. After that its too bloody hot then wet Its a real problem for us sex starved mongers

The Thai flights ex MCR werent well publicised as I suspect that the Thai hierarchy realy didnt want to do it but begrudgingly did it so they could say "Told ya so" so it was kept relatively quiet, I believe the flight was a Thursday evening departure but only once a week. They ran a direct service from Manchester in the late 80's as a test. I believe they applied for temporary Traffic rights but after less than a few months they stopped. There just wasnt the demand especially when China Airlines started their direct service ex Schipol offering a free overnight hotel in Amsterdam with connec

I wouldnt even try, but if its realy necessary for February I would book ASAP. Mid Feb (Feb 16th) is Chinese New Year and probably a good week or two either side will be high season rated. Jan/Feb has always been a problem for flights. Early Jan is High season. It drops to mid/low for the end of Jan then jumps up again as it gets close to Chinese new year, then drops back again. I cant find the figures now but a few years back saw seat occupations and traffic movements for the periods around chinese new year and the actual numbers of people around the world moving and flying and specificall

There will be flights to Bangkok via other destinations involving a change, but its simply not financially viable to run a flight 7 days a weel direct f it isnt over 3/4 full. Thai Tried it and failed. maybe 1 direct flight per week might work.
-
OK cheers for that. Im due to go around the end of October but, as I said I wont book untill September unless one of the airlines panics and drops their prices. IIWY I would wait untill early August to book. BUT as stated keep your eyes on the prices as some airline may panic and sell off empty seats as BA did several years back when I got a return ticket for the wife for around £375. Thai have also done that too
-
Im due to fly in late october and I wont book untill September when prices will drop as airlines fight to fill any unfilled seats. Isnt Septembet Half term time? If so then prices will stay high for that period and a weel or so either side.
-
Sorry but it wont work. Direct flights have been tried from Manchester since the 80's and they always get dropped. . I suspect 1 flight direct per week might make it but there just isnt the overall traffic from Manchester to justify any more than about 1.

With all due respect to you, I found nothing in the Phillippines that would make me want to live there. I admit there are some beautifull places around the coast but the sheer amount of corruption in the country shocked me. I was attracted to it in the early 80's due to the amazing amount of natural Gold in the ground (Apart from Yamashita's gold) and that did appeal to me, but after 3 days panning and pulling a few ounces of gold, the thugs arrived with their guns and bullshit demanding everything. If youve found your little place over there that makes you happy then fair do's to ya and well

I dont know about that Jacko. But BA will use the strike to sack a lot of staff they dont like and because its a strike they can get out of paying customer compensation by saying cancelled flights arent their fault. They realy are scum now. Form being the worlds best to now being one of the worlds tightest and worst. They tried fucking with me and it cost them 600 euros before court but I wanted them in court to prove their faults so the CAA could then have a go at them, but the CAA are toothless and wont do anything against BA, they still havent, 2 years on settled my complaint about BA bre

If youre booked with BA (WHY?????) pay atention and check your booking The long and bitter British Airways cabin-crew dispute has intensified, with an unprecedented 16-day strike timed to hit the start of the summer peak in July. Members of the Unite union working for BA’s Mixed Fleet operation will stop work from 1 to 16 July inclusive. The union says it will also take legal action against the airline over what it says is the “blacklisting” of staff who have taken part in the previous 26 days of industrial action. http://www.independent.co.uk/travel/news-and-advice/british-airways-st

I think the reason for the high prices is simply supply. Heathrow and London between them have at least 7 or 8 direct or connecting flights to Thailand every day and that realy controls the pricing.

I'll try and post some prices ex Manchester if thats any good?
