  1. Here's a few photos from October, taken wth a fisheye lens. The lens is a super wide zoom....8mm-15mm...and these are some of the first shots I took. There are huge distortions as the angle widens, giving phenominal capture areas.

  2. Ha...just seen the date of the opening post.......
  3. The owner of a Pattaya pool company had a fatal motorcycle accident recently....could be why you didn't succeed in getting a reply? http://www.pattayaone.net/pattaya-news/65055/well-known-pool-company-md-killed-motorbike-crash-jomtien/
  4. There are usually a handful of people there on the lash at eight in the morning!
  5. Excellent. Thank you.
  6. It's the window seats,A and K,that have the IFE box. I think B has room to stretch out.
  7. I knew the bloke who was known as King Dong or Long Dong Silver.....he was a regular factory worker living in Forest Gate,East London. He used to laugh at the fact people took it seriously! The video is a total fake, concocted by David Sullivan et al.Was around in the early 1980s. The white bloke was the Texas Longhorn.Other characters were the so called worlds hairiest woman, and a hermaphrodite. The hair was collected from a barbers and stuck on with theatrical glue. I know this as I worked for DS,and sold this film in a London sex shop for a few years. The appendages were rubber. Do you remember the scene where LDS tied a knot in the middle of it? The video was Sex Freaks Special, sold by Goldstar, distributed by Private.
  8. Yay! Thanx Tom. Jobs a good 'un.
  9. Testing testing testing..... Text text text Blah blah blah ETC ETC ETC
  10. CT,thank you for the comprehensive answer! A and B the C of D. (Above and beyond the call of duty!) I'll give it a go!
  11. Whats the method of uploading a vast quantity of photographs in one hit? I've just been playing with the automated batch programme in Photoshop,so now have piles of resized, bordered and colour corrected images all done with a couple of clicks rather than be individually adjusted. It would be perverse to then manually load them one at a time after batching up the editing process. Can someone offer a step by step guide on the multiple upload operation,as I dont seem to get this option when hitting the "more reply options" button. Thanks!
  12. Hehe....well,for me it was another method of playing with an image,no more no less. One mans fantastical is another's tacky. Super real is no better than surreal, just different. I enjoy manipulating what comes off the memory card. That was the first time I had played with exposures. I'm sure the pictures you attached are from people with long experience in this genre, hence the exceptionally high standard of their output. We all have to start somewhere. Thank fuck it's not a competition,eh?
  13. Good stuff Tom!
  14. And a couple from the bay..
  15. A few HDR from Soi 7
  16. I didnt take the camera and tripod out much,so only have a few daytime shots here. I have a few of the boats though, will scramble through my pics and add them later. Next time Im out there I'll get some panoramas and vista shots.
  17. JS,samesame..I had the camera for three years before digging into the settings and trying things out. The conversion programme,Photomatrix, also lets you enter a single image for HDR if it is shot in the RAW mode, and then tonemaps it for added detail. Although not true HDR as there is only one exposure,it means you can get special effects with moving scenes also, people etc. Heres five I just popped through the programme....the original photos were dull and insipid, the stuff coming out the other end is dramatic. I recently posted about 150 halloween photos here : http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/topic/59954-a-nightmare-on-walking-street/ These were single exposures in RAW,then processed through Photomatrix for effect. Its a simple to use programme!
  18. The sun was nearly overhead. I wanted to get sky and clouds in the photos, then dramatically play with the settings to make the image full of detail rather than washed out. It was the first time I had ever tried this method, and now popping them in the editing programme is the first time I've altered them like this. Some are very realistic, others surreal...whatever best suits the scene. Anyway, makes a change from normal photos? Here's another ten. Some were shot with a fisheye lens, hence the super wide angle and curvature.
  19. Here's a few experimental HDR images, taken in Pattaya in October. HDR is High Dynamic Range,. The process involves taking three different exposures of a static scene, then merging them in a dedicated programme. One is underexposed, one overexposed, and one normal exposure.A tripod is necessary to prevent any change in the viewfinder. The camera I used,a Canon 5d Mk2,has a setting called "auto bracketing" which allows these settings to be pre selected, then takes the three exposures in sequence, thus avoiding touching the camera. The three images then align up,without any ghosting. The images are then fed into a HDR programme on the computer, the one I used is called Photomatrix Pro,and amalgamated. A fair few presets are on hand, and loads of tweaks. The photos are initially set in the RAW mode, where the data is uncompressed, then returned to JPEGS for posting. There are many ways to modify these images...ultra real,surreal....many options. This was the first time I used HDR,and so I wasnt sure what to photograph,or what the results might be. I popped them in the Photomatrix processor a few minutes ago,and here are the first ten. I'll add more in the next few days. Hope you enjoy the vividness!
  20. Thanks SS. It probably isn't the most fascinating subject matter, but documents an interesting event. I'll prepare another photo report soon, but more hooker orientated,so should get a better response!
  21. Well, that's it...done and dusted. Next time I'll get there earlier and stay out later, there was so many people flowing up and down it was impossible to capture everything. Also, will check out the Monster Ball at Mixx.....there were zillions of Russians in costume or mask, they really added to the atmosphere that night. Hope you enjoyed looking at the photographs. Sometimes, the background scenery is more interesting than the foreground....hookers lurking in doorways,a leg here,a heel there,a scowl or a smile. Lots of cool expressions too,and of course colour overload from the neon for added artistic effect. The blurred backgrounds often add something too..
  22. Thanks Dr M! Supporting comments are very much appreciated!!
