When I was in Klong Toey market in Bangkok recently I saw stacks of unprepared food I would have loved to buy,but had no available cooking facilities in the hotels I was staying at,so didn't make any purchases. Next time I deffo want to try some of these foods.....I saw some amazing looking mushrooms, chopped frogs and pigs snouts.Would make an interesting meal. The mushrooms in particular looked wonderful and the customers buying them took their selection process very seriously. I'll find some photos and add them later! If I buy these items, would streetvendors fry them for me in their woks for a few baht? I've never asked before, but I assume it shouldn't be a problem. Anyone bought raw food and had it cooked on a Soi?And if so,what's a decent price to offer? 50 baht? Thanks.

I think wibits is vernacular for "with bits", northerners of course not pronouncing the "th". My dad had me collecting horse shit too. He never did it himself though.

They were the Outcasts? Logo was a skull with a top hat. The Road Rats were around south London at that time too. -
Just had an email with this link for free ebooks. Not saying they are worthwhile, but they are buckshee. http://www.bangkokbooks.com/freeebooks.php?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=bangkokbooks+newsletter+September+2012&utm_source=YMLP&utm_term=FREE+e-books

Some people prefer the cash economy,no reliance on banks,ATMs or leaving a trail of expenditure. Not for everyone, but people live this way. Don't assume that your financial style suits anybody else,or question them for going down another path. And safes aren't just for cash, but important documents, keys, cameras, phones, digital devices and suchlike.

Still none the wiser how the safe can be opened by a third party with a bank card? And what's the cigarette lighter situation....does the heat make the combination invalid? Just curious how either of these articles can compromise the security of the box. www.youtube.com/watch?v=954ZIcLM7gE&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Just read this on PattayaOne about a group of Arab scammers working Pattaya hotels : "He led the team of four men who would use fake passports to check-in at hotels. They would then identify rooms occupied by foreign nationals. Using a credit card, they would be able to open room safes and remove valuables which would then be sold on and the proceeds would be split between the men." How can someone open the safe by using a bank card? I remember reading that the master code is usually 123456 or 000000,that there is a master key,or that these boxes can be opened with a cigarette lighter. Maybe this is true, maybe not. I keep loads of stuff in the in room safes, never been ripped, but these stories make me wonder just how safe the safes are.

Right, thats the 250 photographs. Took a while to individually resize them, put a little border on and post them here. Looking back over them, there's no way a two dimensional image can convey the chaos, heat, smell and sounds of a very energetic place! Health and safety is non-existent,there's blood and ice underfoot everywhere, and bikes, vans and porters are charging through congested alleyways. Tourists are thin on the ground. Still,it is a very sensory place to visit, and theres plenty to see. The Thais like to buy their produce while it still has a pulse. Fish are sliced and bleed out in pools, frogs are held in bags under the counter and turtles scramble over each other in pursuit of freedom.I felt sorry for some of them, one frog in particular. I'll add a photo of it later! Six o'clock in the morning was the best time to visit, before the midday heat takes its toll. By noon, many areas have closed for the day.Refrigeration is by ice, hence why it is slippery under foot. Please do comment, would be nice to get any feedback. It took a bit of effort to post all these images. Here's one more :
