Phoenix greens are always fast and usually in very good condition though I have not played ther for about 8 weeks. They are certainly not the fastest I think from the courses I have played so far NAtural Park Hills and/or Resort takes that credit. Trouble with Phoenix greens is they are not that receptive being IMHO too hard whereas Green Valley are much softer yet just as fast and also in well looked after and normally in very good condition. A lot can depend on when you play as all courses have to tine and sand the greens now and then so if you pick the week or so after this has been

Hi Callum and all Well don't play St. Andrews here in Thailand for the RideHEr cup as it is a monster course and no fun unless you are a sub 10 handicapper. Callum so sorry I have not been on or e-mailed you but read my thread in the Members general section for my living in Thailand update and you will see I have been a busy bee. Golf is getting really good now and I am shooting just over 100 per round regularly now and scoring around 30 stableford points. Playing about 4 times a week mainly at Green Valley and once a week out of the Haven. I still thinl Green Valley could be a g

Mobile phones and SMS in Thailand
RayW replied to valentinoxxx's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Just for info. I just got my Nokia 3310 mobile unlocked at the MDK Centre in BKK. So it now accepts any Thai Sim cards, I have a 1-2-Call one now. It was locked on the UK O2 service. Anyhow here is the good news, the unlocking cost me all of 100 Baht. Wow that broke the bank ;D Also got a new battery for it for 250 Baht, so compare that to the UK prices. -
Dave, so how did you do in the London then?? Sorry I was going to wish you luck a couple of days before but got so bogged down here with so much to do that I clean forgot about it. Anyway many congratulations for completing it. For those that have never run a London Marathon then I can say is certainly it is one hell of an experience, having run two of them in the late 80's before the knee wore completely out.

Thanks Tom. I was thinking those seats looked about the best. Only hold up really is that we cannot find our marriage certificate which we need to get the Decree Nisi. As we got married in Gibraltar way back in 1990 we have to get a certified copy from there now and that will take at least two weeks what with the post as they need a postal/money order sent to them and then the delay coming back. Real bummer as all the financial haggling has been agreed so no other obstacles. My solicitor recommends I do not leave the UK till the petition and finacial settlement is all signed and sealed.

Try http://www.frequentflyer.oag.com/airlines_...airline=Eva+Air That is EVA's own site showing the lay out of their flights on 747 Combi. Now a question, which are the best bookable seats in Deluxe if you want a window seat and no screaming kids. Don't mind waiting for food but anyway I usually order specials as I cannot eat food with onions, garlic or chives in it. I am still waiting for the go ahead from my solicitor so I can book my own way flight. Gettign impatient now but at least have a lot of packing and sorting still to finish off so must get back on with it.

All time shares are a rip off, period. NEver fallen for one yet and never intend too. Know a few guys been in the timeshare industry and they all will confirm it is a big big rip off that makes big bucks for the TS companies and big loses for the mug punters. Heed this warning if nothing else.

No the one I used was up nearer to Soi 12 or 13 on the opposite side to RG centre.
-
If that is the one very close to East Coast Real Estate office then it is indeed excellent, I used it myself last year and was very impressed with the service an dhte price.

Fonz Yep jesting partly but I have been to UK places that have been like that, real slappers. Never again though, once bitten etc. London's Soho is like £20 for 10 minutes and yep they do say "Have you finished yet?" and after about 5 minutes "I think your times up so hurry up". I tell you steer clear. [smiley=thumbdown.gif] In UK there are some good freelancers who operate often from their home and there is a site I think it is called www.punternet .com or something like that where the girls are reviewed by, as it infers, punters. You can even write you own report on a particul

Well NZ is still cheap compared to here in UK where it is equivalent to 3500 Baht for 30 minutes with the girl eating an apple or smoking a ciggie whilst keep asking "Have you finished yet luv?" or "Hold on a tick, lets just check that the rubber thingie is still in place" or even worse "You've picked a bad week luv so wait a tick whilst I put this sponge up inside" [smiley=livid2.gif] Roll on LOS [smiley=tits.gif] Oh I meant to add that I was in Aukland in the mid 90's for a couple of weeks and found that the girls there were really sexy and as you say much cheaper than the UK. Hi Loser (hey your handle sounds like my golf match results). If you have them then take you own clubs to LOS, I have yet to find an airline who will not carry such sports gear for free snf I have never had any problem with this. DOn't know how much he charges but there is a very well respected guy who gives lessons, His name is Richard Livingstone and he teaches at the Diana Driving Range which is not very far from teh Pattaya Sports Club HQ at the Naklua end of Pattaya. Enjoy your trip and enjoy the golf, it is superb over there. Pop along to The Haven on Soi 13 speak to Stephen

Ghost well I did download from your ftp server Tape 1 Side A and B but today went to get Tape 2 and the ftp server cannot be found. Is it down now or on a different IP address? Would be nice to get Tape 2 as well though haven't even started my course yet, will likely have to wait till I retire shortly. -
Well I flew Sri Lankan last June via Colombo and paid £355 return plus airport taxis of about £40. Tom I am hanging on before I book my flight now, as I have a feeling I may get a really cheap ticket the way things are looking. Would have been nice to join you and especially your Mum ;D on your flight on 1st MAy and indeed this may still happen at a new cheap price soon.
-
Tom, when are you flying out in May ?? I have not been able yet to book my flight though I understand with Evergreen Deluxe I can change my flight time once for free within a certain time limit. If so I think I will book my Evergreen Deluxe flight very soon now if I know I can change to a later date if necessary. Point is we may be going out at a similar time and I am looking for a skivvy to help carry my luggage .. eh sorry I mean friend for company on the flight.

Cheers Ghost. The raw Windows FTP software worked okay once I had sorted out my firewall, but still the SmartFTP program would not allow me to send commands to your server although I could log in. Anyway got the Tape1SideA file now thank you and will download the others as and when I am next online. Many thanks Ghost, [smiley=cheers.gif] so now I have no excuse not to be able to speak fluent Thai by the end of next week [smiley=uh-uh.gif] -

Ghost, just tried that ftp address using the flb username and both tha1tap3 and also thaitap3 passwords but all to no avail, unless I am doing something wrong as I have rarely used my Smartftp software. Any chance of burning them onto a CD-R and I will give you my address via PM's I will of course buy you a drink for your efforts when we meet in Pattaya one day. -
Duece, I have never found an airline yet that has worried about my golf clubs. ::) They go separately and are not usually even weighed, they come under sports gear which is carried free from all my experience of hauling my golf clubs to various places over recent years. So just concentrate on your main luggage weight and forget the golf clubs.

Ghost, yes I also have the Thai for Beginners book which I brought at the Bookazine store in Pattaya RG Centre. I did not get the tapes with it simply because I do not a a tape player except in my car and I dont use that either. Everything these days is on CD so pity they didn't do a CD version as I would have brought that for sure. So yes please would love the .mp3 file of the tape(s), very very much appreciate that if you could, and I will buy you a beer whenever we meet in Pattaya as I hope we indeed will :) -
Tom, trouble is I have read all the Biggles Books just waiting for the "Biggles goes to Pattaya" volume ;D ;D "Hang Loose" hmm.... I will be doing just that after my Vasectomy on Wednesday morning .. ouch!! hmm getting a bit of anxiety over that just now so don't say Hang Loose again for the moment please ;D Now come to think of it there must be a good book around somewhere to entitled something like "Having the Snip when a Pensioner" that should be a good read.
