  1. MILLWALLFC, Just go to thier site and book online. BTW, A travel agent said he'd book the flights for me but would charge 300baht as Nok paid little or no commission. Re 7-11. On the NOK home page there is a 7-11 logo with all the credit card ones, so fuck nose what that means. (Would you really depend on a Thai 7-11 dude to book your flights anyway????) L
  2. U tapao airport. Bangkok Air uses it. Do a search. Lemons
  3. Stayed 3 nights in a Cookies Bungalow last year in May I think. Got an a/cond one for 1200baht. Nothing luxurious, but a great location right on the edge of the beach. I also like Cookies r/rant, especially the nightly seafood BBQ. lemons
  4. mroutcall Hi. A tall order indeed I think. Most of the upper end hotels that have suites like you want, will also have a joiner fee of up to 1000baht. How long are you planning to stay? It would probably be better to look for an upmarket 2 b/room condo with maid service. You would have a pool, gym & maybe a jacuzzi. Have a look at this site, although if you're in town less than a month, the selection may be restricted. http://www.fairproperties.com/condos_for_rent.htm Lemons
  5. This site has 2 guest reviews at the bottom. Is it girl friendly? Reading between the lines, and looking at the tarrif, I think it would be. However best to speak to them to confirm. http://www.atsiam.com/hotels/pattaya/carlt...land.asp#review L
  6. I've found travel agents almost cant be bothered booking these low cost flights for you. I imagine there's stuff all commission in it for them. You'll find the Nok Air site is pretty easy to use. http://www.nokair.co.th/ Lemons
  7. G'day yoda46007. I reckon your post will be flicked into the members area, where we can all chat freely. Plenty of suggestions once that happens I think. Cheers, Lemons
  8. Easydude, I suggest Koh Chang. Unlike Samet, there are beer bars here where you'll have no worries finding company. Personally, I love Koh Chang, and make my way there every trip. It's about 3hrs by bus then 1/2hr by boat from Pattaya - or a 45min flight from Bkk + boat. PM me if you want links etc. A mate of mine runs a beer bar on the island, and usually has a good selection of b/g's to entertain you. Plenty of accom in all price ranges - and heaps to do as well. 9. Northlander, You may already be aware of this, but please be cautious if you are planning to travel by road or rail south into Malaysia. Southern Thailand is not the safest region for a farang to travel through - unless you really know what you're doing. Flying to KL or Penang would not be a problem ... but if you're a P4P guy, perhaps choose Cambodia over Malaysia. Lemons
  10. This article appeared on Thai Visa thisafternoon: BANGKOK: -- The ongoing price war in Thailand's mobile-phone industry intensified, with TA Orange introducing a new campaign that will cut fees further, Bangkok Post reports. Under the new promotion, the first minute of a call within TA Orange's network and the fixed-line network of its parent True Corp. (TRUE.TH) will cost THB1, the second and fourth minutes will be THB0.25 each while the third and fifth minutes are free. For calls to other networks, customers will be charged THB2 for the first minute and rates similar to its i
  11. I reckon it's the ongoing higher price of fuel that's pressuring them to pull these tricks. IMHO, far better customer relations to come out and say that, rather than sneak around adding surcharges and the like. L
  12. Les. As this is a very active forum, always try a search before posting queries like this. You will find numerous threads on this very topic. Taxis, limos, cars, buses, minibuses, etc etc. It's all there. Meter taxi from Airport to Pty will be about 1000thb + allow 200thb for tolls. (Take the tollway option, as it's much quicker). If you're starting from the CBD BKK, it will largely depend on the traffic getting outa Dodge. Lemons

  14. No mate, the buying of a bottle of grog and taking it to the bar is not an unusual thing in LOS. (There was a thread on here about it not so long ago). Some bars charge a corkage, some dont. I only do it in bars where I've already spent some $ and have a BG currently b/fined. I rarely drink more than one myself, and end up spending a fair bit on other drinks. Also, the other girls who may have been a bit quiet, come to life with a couple in them and generally attract other punters off the street. I've not had an owner or mamasan ever object to this practise. It really was a 'face
  15. Face issues can arise in very unexpected ways. I once bought a bottle of Thai wiskey to my favorite b/bar for the girls to share, as I know they love it. While the bottle was accepted with smiles, they all shot glances at eachother, and it was put under the bar straight away and nothing further was said. I was pretty confused. I asked my BG what was wrong and she simply smiled. I was about to get up and tell them all to go fuck 'emselves when the mamasan pulled me aside. She explained that the girls loved the wiskey but couldn't drink it without coke or soda. The owner had decreed th
  16. Yep that's an example of face. On a similar vein, if a Thai simply ignores you if you ask them something, it's because - they don't want to offend you, by revealing that you're offending them, by asking a question they don't have the answer to. Simple heh! The ultimate example IMHO however, is in the P4P world. A bg rooting as many farangs as she can in any given week, but being mortally offended if one of those farangs dares to wander past her bar with another bg in tow. How rude, what a prick! Just as well I love the place so much. L
  17. Its a fairly small hotel thats been in pattaya for a long time. I've stayed at other small hotels, eg the Haven opposite as well as larger ones, such as the Lek and the Dynasty. I prefer Ma Maison over all these. Be aware that Soi 13 has a lot of construction going on at the moment, and can be a bit noisy. FWIW, If in Soi 13, I'd book only 1 or 2 days - then if all is well you can easily extend. As for trees, it's a small premises, with potted orchids etc round the pool, no room for big trees. It's Swiss run with lots of French guests, so no worries with the language. Lemons
  18. Absolutely no problem with BG's. Also there is an old nightwatchman on after the staff go home. He will take the ladies ID if you want. Lemons
  19. Sebos, Ma Maison is my hotel of choice in Pattaya. I haven't stayed at sunshine vista so cant assist with a comparison. Ma Maison is all I need for a place to stay. Soi 13 Good location, pool, A/cond, room safe and friendly staff. Most of the year it's 700thb. here is the website, if you haven't seen it: http://www.mamaison-hotel.com/e_index.html Lemons

  22. I found this site really helpful to sort out the fake Rolex 'industry'. Seems even in the fake market there are degrees of quality. http://www.yabz.com/recognize_a_fake.htm PS: this site is also a good source of info re Thai gold. Lemons
  23. I cover all the mirrors in my house and avoid walking past large windows. That way, (along with a gutful of piss), when the liddle darlins call out: 'Hello sessy man', I can almost believe they're referring to me! Lemons
  24. Yep dead right. Those upper end pubs are more likely to charge a joiner fee. Don't know about the H/Rock though. Never satayed there but I know a few mongers do. Every bloke on this board will have their favorite hotel, and what is a castle for me, may be shite for you. Here's a link to the Ma Maison in Soi 13. My personal pick, although it's Swiss run so most of your fellow guests will be European. No worries with ladies. 750thb with A/B/fast, in room safe, A/cond and Pool. http://www.mamaison-hotel.com/e_index.html General tip: Wherever you chose, try it for 1 or 2 nig
