  1. Hi, Dodgy penalties cost Everton and Arsenal. Dont like to see cheaters rewarded. Bournemouth are the team of the weekend with a great away win at Fulham.
  2. Hi, These contracts are very complex these days. It depends what is in the present ones, but I imagine that Real would have to pay a big sum to Spurs because of Poch's current longterm contract.
  3. Hi, Always listen to one of my fav Doors songs.
  4. Hi, We have to wait till Sun/Mon this round for the main games. Man Utd face a tough game against Everton on Sunday, especially after their defeat v Juve in the CL. Tottenham face City on Monday and their season could unravel unless they get something in that game. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6319321/Real-Madrid-make-bid-hire-Mauricio-Pochettino.html Real Madrid 'to make another bid to hire Mauricio Pochettino' as they prepare £40m offer to lure boss away from Tottenham
  5. Hi, Watford are the team of the weekend with a great away win at in form Wolves. Hammers are denied by Lloris's world class display. Jose loses 2 points in the last minute.
  6. Hi, Mancs will have an early rise this Saturday as United play Chelsea in the early kick off. These games after International break can be a bit flat. Lets hope for a good game. Mourinho is in trouble again and there does seem to be a campaign to do him over.
  7. Hi, That was one of the reasons. I like to see these small operators survive as it keeps the bigger ones on their toes.
  8. Hi, Wolves and Bournemouth are the teams of the week with great away wins. Missed the Liv v City game but it seemed like a poor match.
  9. Hi, Mourinho and Man Utd seem in big trouble at the moment. Newcastle is a relatively soft game so they may get a win. Man City face Liverpool who have had 2 tough games in a row. For that reason I will have a little bet on City.
  10. Hi, I think the rankings can be misleading. If one plays in US one makes more money/rankings.
  11. Hi, http://www.cityam.com/264308/primera-air-customers-told-not-travel-stansted-airport Primera Air customers told not to travel to Stansted airport following airline's sudden collapse Consumer group Which? said passengers may only be able to get their money back if their booking had ATOL protection, which would grant you a full refund if a company collapses and an alternative flight home if stranded abroad. However, whether you have Atol protection depends on how you booked. The scheme applies to package holiday that involves a flight and was made through travel agents with a licence. If you booked your flight and hotel accommodation through the airline's website, this will not be covered, Which? said.
  12. Hi, Sterling is strong against the Turkish lira.
  13. Hi, I said to a chap who was watching it with me that Mickelson would put the ball into the water. He knew they'd lost and wanted to go home.
  14. Hi, There was a tank battle in WW2 where the Soviet Union brought in loads of tanks on trains to outnumber the superior German ones. Not sure which battle ?
  15. Hi, I think the scousers were robbed on Fulham Road. Mourinho has to be toast, shame, he was great in his day but seems to have imploded.
  16. Hi, The scousers got robbed in North London, still, happy with the 3 points. The locals in the Fox and Pheasant were all shouting for Everton. I doubt they will shout for Liverpool next Saturday though. Man Utd and West Ham seem to be gradually improving and will have what should be a good came in the early kick off.
  17. Hi, In the OP I suggested they might do well. Glad they are living up to it as it is a grass roots type of club.
  18. Hi, With hindsight it seems like Ashley had bigger fish to fry. He is a great retailer and he already has HoF for peanuts and is closing in on Debenhams. Newcastle are unlucky that his attention is elsewhere at this time.
  19. Hi, Liverpool confirm their potential with a vital win at Spurs. Man Utd and Arsenal stay in the hunt with good away wins. Cardiff already look doomed, although like Newcastle they have had tough early games.
  20. Hi, They seem to have a charmed existence alright.
  21. Hi, Liverpool, and their colourful fans, are in town for a game which may define their season. Man Utd arrive at the boundary of London for a tough game against Watford.
  22. Hi, Happy Sunday for gooners as they win and Spurs lose. Arsenal look like they will concede every time which is not good.
  23. Hi, I'd say PL is most watchable league, but Real and Barcelona are the clubs most players, especially South American, dream of playing for. Man Utd, Munich, Milan clubs, Juve and Liverpool would be the next IMO. Of course the new money is making Chelsea, Man City, and PSG attractive as well.
  24. Hi, Poch has done well at Spurs alright. I feel he has a solid agreement with Levy to stay for a few years to see in the transition to new stadium. He may get a big job in Spain after that.
  25. Hi, I was big into poetry when at school. This is one I missed as a teen. Great poem and I must read more of his work. Radical stuff. https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poets/percy-bysshe-shelley A Song: “Men of England” By Percy Bysshe Shelley Men of England, wherefore plough For the lords who lay ye low? Wherefore weave with toil and care The rich robes your tyrants wear? Wherefore feed and clothe and save From the cradle to the grave Those ungrateful drones who would Drain your sweat—nay, drink your blood? Wherefore, Bees of England, forge Many a weapon, chain, and scourge, That these stingless drones may spoil The forced produce of your toil? Have ye leisure, comfort, calm, Shelter, food, love’s gentle balm? Or what is it ye buy so dear With your pain and with your fear? The seed ye sow, another reaps; The wealth ye find, another keeps; The robes ye weave, another wears; The arms ye forge, another bears. Sow seed—but let no tyrant reap: Find wealth—let no imposter heap: Weave robes—let not the idle wear: Forge arms—in your defence to bear. Shrink to your cellars, holes, and cells— In hall ye deck another dwells. Why shake the chains ye wrought? Ye see The steel ye tempered glance on ye. With plough and spade and hoe and loom Trace your grave and build your tomb And weave your winding-sheet—till fair England be your Sepulchre.
