  1. With my tipping record, I thought I'd help Andy along a bit - so, I'll go for Federer in 4 sets. What about you guys? Winner and number of sets. As an aside, who's the guy in the hat? It's been bugging me.
  2. The little guy appears to have hit a rich vein of form that's continuing into the French Open - live on Astro from 8 pm Thai clock (no idea about True) so it looks like I'll be channel-hopping between the golf and the tennis. I've got a fiver e/w on him in The Open at 200/1 and but no prices available for the Scottish Open yet.
  3. So where are you going to fly to/from?
  4. Muangthong, Buriram and Chonburi are all fairly decent teams by Asian standards on their best days. Songkhla (Wuanchon) manage to pack 35,000 fans into a stadium that should probably hold no more than 15,000 when those three visit. Scary stuff. Your wife's sister's other half must be doing a decent job - Muangthong beat us in a penalty shoot-out in the Cup semi-final last season.
  5. There aren't many tears being shed ... Rangers booted out of SPL ... or, more precisely, had their application to join turned down.
  6. Sam, I don't disbelieve you and have no reason to question what you done with Corals or down the pub. However, in this thread, you didn't tip Spain until after they qualified for the semis - that's not an opinion. Who do you fancy for the Thai Premier League? They're on a bit of a break at the moment but the games resume this coming weekend.
  7. You've lost me, Sam. Baht was the only BM to "tip" Spain. I can't see where you mentioned them until after they beat France and were safely through to the semi-finals and a game against Portugal.
  8. What route are you planning to fly with the A380?
  9. According to the poll, 10 BMs (almost 35% of the votes).
  10. Well done to Spain. I did feel for the Italians at times though - I think their pride was sorely tested in the second-half.
  11. Are you flying Thai between BKK and HKG/SIN?
  12. LOL. I guess the cocoa reviews are on the back-burner for a while. And all because I had the audacity to point out that you're not going to buy Betong tangerines for 35 Baht/kilo.
  13. Andy, I like Chang Soda with Lemon + Lime at 99 Baht for a case of 12, but too much soda water makes you fart. The alternative is sparkling mineral water topped up with squeezed fresh lime. I think Perrier do a ready-made version (not sure about availability in Thailand) but the price of their basic stuff is silly - hence the post.
  14. I believe they have some from Malaysia (confusingly called Spritzer) which, if the push comes to the shove, I'll load my truck up with the next time I'm in Dannok or Padang Besar. Still not cheap though ...
  15. Is there a local equivalent of Perrier or the Essential Waitrose stuff they sell in Tops - specifically that's sold in either Tops/Big C/Tesco/Makro?
  16. Presumably they have no idea what they'll be doing in late 2013.
  17. Taxi? You can get the train for 36 Baht - a whole new experience for less than 80 pence.
  18. Some pics of the first A380 out of the paintshop ...
  19. Not at all. I saw all that. It's just that I expect a bit more from a 35m quid striker. Maybe I expect too much. As it is, Peter Crouch can do all that, he has a better strike rate AND a decent looking missus!
  20. I agree. I don't think she's ran near her best for a while and I think it would be better to retire with her record intact.
  21. I'll go for the Italians - although they dominated England, I didn't get the feeling after the first 15 minutes that they were likely to score. One thing's for sure, they won't dominate the midfield against the Germans. I kind of hope the Portuguese beat the Spanish though ... We obviously view Carroll through different specs ...
  22. What negative votes? Back to the footie though ... I think the Germans will be pretty chuffed how things turned out.
  23. It's better than Scotland's.
  24. It probably referred to the knock-out stages. The 1968 Spain game was home and away, not tournament play. The tournament stages were actually held in Italy, where England lost to Yugoslavia.
