Two nations divided by a common language.

one way shows a "peace sign" the other way shows "up yours" V for victory is "up yours" someones avatar has it. I dont know what president went to the UK (regan?) and did a backwards peace sign at a speach, the crowd was shocked -

Paul, have a great time, and dont worry about too much planning Just go with the flow and you will get there! Maybe next time for some drinks, I have to wait until Pattaya settles down after chinese new years........kung hee fat choy ting_tong

Paul, better check the name again, it may be U-tapao? I am sure you will find a cab or ride when you pull into the airport, they dont strand you in those places without transportation. Maybe bookmark some phone numbers before you go!

Tims bar beer's rooms are nice, a friend had a jacuzzi room there, big and clean! As for the penthouse, if you get the wrong room, you get thousands of roaches

Paul, I didnt know that the pattaya airport was open to big planes? pattaya airport You must certainly mean Don Muang in BKK? http://www.world-airport-codes.com/thailan...ttaya-5710.html If you want a taxi, look up the guy that BigD recommends, in "rellable driver" post. I may use that guy myself, I dont need free muay thai boxing lessons from khong fa

G'day mate!

How about bringing cats on an airline?

If you are in BKK, why not just book a minivan (share) or other cheap ride? A taxi thats away from the airport may be cheaper. Call the Dynasty and see if you can pay to ride their shuttle bus to Pattaya?

Conley, good luck, remember the back up plan I wrote about. If they stand you up, and you go to your hotel, check in under an alias name, as they will threaten to "have a driver come by to collect" their money. There is nothing worse than flying 20 hours plus and being tired, then having to deal with threats over the phone at your hotel. I had to "bribe" the front desk ladies 100 baht each (300bt) to tell khong fa I went to the (roach infested) Penthouse hotel. use caution, and good luck, t_t

When khong fa stands you up at the airport, simply walk outside and go to the booth with all the tourists in line, then get a cab there. I hope you did not give them your hotel address or name, because when they want their money for not picking you up, they will come to collect it at your hotel. Another advanced way to get a cab, is to go to the departures area on the 3rd floor and take one that just dropped off people.

Lots of saunas in Pattaya! Or you can search google yourself......he he he!

I wash my own clothes in the sink, using the bubble bath soap from the hotel Then I use the money I saved to have a noodle soup off a street vendor I usually pull into town with 2 t-shirts, 1 shorts(in a backpack), and the airplane clothes I am wearing. I buy everything I need in Pattaya.

Chok dee LilWilly! (good luck) You should PM (private message) eddy35 and start emailing each other, he's been there and done that! Just be careful crossing the street(2nd road) maybe consider getting a flashing strobe light? Its dangerous for everyone! good luck with your trip. t_t -

Powerchair / Wheelchair Transport
ting_tong replied to LilWilly's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Hi, I did see a guy cruise around in a go-go on a "powered chair", he was cruising around a few places. Pattaya is not too friendly for any mobility chalanged person, but I have seen a few guys in wheel chairs and scooters. So it can be done. The sidewalks are not made for wheelchairs. I have a friend that has a converted motorbike made to carry his wheelchair, but he uses it for getting around to "kha thon" (ask for money)........................t_t -
I never been to the Lek, Baybreeze always has been a nice place for me to stay, usually a month at a time. Love the safe in the room.

busta, please read this -
Hey Suitcase, if you post this in the members section, we will all help you! Asking about "general services" baht bus, and others could open up a can of worms. You do have many friends here in the members section, and will be overwhelmed with advice and answers. t_t

When I was there, it was not too busy, there are a few (3) nice lounge chairs. Make sure you get your sun before 12:00 to 1:00 because it gets shaded after that. The pool is small, and like any pool in Pattaya, dont get the water in your ears. I always wanted to go to mike mall shopping center pool on the top of the building, anybody go there? All I know is the kids spit from the top deck to people walking below

I had a hamburger there for lunch one day(uncle charlies) and was surprised that when I used a napkin to press out the grease, almost none came out? Gokie just remodeled the place, now there is a bar for the guys to hang out. Once again, the thai restaurant next door practices double pricing, avoid that place!
