  3. There are shops in Soi Buhkao, and the open market there. I saw a ton of phone sellers at the Big market on Soi Buhkao on friday. I bought a good cheap phone on ebay, make sure its a 900 1800 world phone/unlocked, cost me $22.00 Not sure on ipods, but electronics are always cheaper at home.
  4. Baybreeze hotel is right next to 2nd road on soi honey inn, 500bt. up2u

  6. Oh crap, I hope you do NOT miss Loy Krathong! I scheduled my whole trip around that! Its a MUST see! Everyone recommends Chiang Mai for Loy Krathong
  7. I stayed at the montri near the gate, around 1000bt a night. http://www.pattayapages.com/accomodation/
  8. I dont know about the UK, but in the USA, I inquired about 120 days, and the gentleman at the Thai/Usa counsulate told me no problem with getting 2 back to back 60 day tourist visas. (a 60 day visa is $25.00) If you try to extend in LOS, it may cost 2X more than in the UK, if they do it? you can also try this forum too
  9. I arrive on the 1st at 3:45 by the time I clear immigrations, it will be 1/2 hour if I am lucky? I am a taker if you can wait? If not I was expecting to just pay, mai pen rai
  10. I stayed at the Montri, it was right next to the Tha Phae Gate. Around 1000bt
  11. Its OK, the food sucks, but it is cheap way to go.
  12. omar, check out either baybreeze or intown soi honey inn (10) I stay at baybreeze, I am there in Oct.
  13. When I walked past the one on soi 10, it looked like the rooms might be small? Looked fairly new? but small. I never checked out the rooms, but from wall to wall, it looked small. There was construction going on there 3 months ago too.
  14. I wonder why I did not see www.thaitraveltips.com on that 1 page site
  15. I go to the baybreeze, A/C, small pool which I rarely use, electronic room safe, and very nice front desk, and bellman staff, the maid is also trustworthy. 500bt for long stay/off season. You just have to pick your room, make sure you have 20 or 50 baht notes to pass to the bellman when you see the rooms. I have never seen the 10th floor, but it may be nice too? I am going to try the ocean view rooms. Dont take the first one offered, see at least 3? I have the email for Phayow the manager if you need it. There are lots of hotels for cheap and good, just some research will put you into the center of things. T_T
  16. 400bt is very cheap, as long as they have A/C? Pratamnak Rd. is only close to walking street, I hope this dont put you into the boondocks! I prefer to stay by soi7,8,9 Some people like the soi 13 area. You ususally cant go wrong as long if you dont go past soi7 to 13. Best to stay on 2nd road to beach road. You will be central with that info. cheers t_t http://www.pattayaplaza.com/maps/map_pattaya.htm 2nd road turns into pratamnak road by S. Pattaya Rd. you may end up in the boonies?
  17. Guido, be specific, where is it? how much is it? URL for hotel search? t_t
  18. name your budget? intown and baybreeze are OK I would follow BigDs advise and go to Jomthien, or even Naklua The boss will not be happy with flipper or eastiny
  19. baybreeze 503/2 Pattaya 2nd Road (Opp. Soi 10) South Pattaya Chonburi 20260 Thailand +66 3842 8383 "phayow" baybreeze30@hotmail.com
  20. I choose the Baybreeze around the corner, I looked at the Apex, and it was sokaprok to me (dirty looking). The Apex does have a decent buffet dinner, at a good price.
  21. Many people will recommend Chiang Mai, but Pattaya will be where I see Loy Krathong for my first time.
  22. bignasty96813 Eh Cuz, you live down the street from me in honolulu?
  23. try the cafes, many of them around, they can plug you in. I liked net4U by soi 13
  24. travelingfox, you should consider joining the members area, you can post questions there too.
  25. I cannot recommend khongfa, they werent there for me, and wanted to send a driver to my hotel to collect the money for "not picking me up" they wanted the full amount of 1200bt They have done this to other people too. I thought I was going to get a free muay thai lesson! I now go upstairs to the arrival area, and simply ask the drivers arriving.
