I am bringing my laptop with me since years, never had a problem at all. Even with a new (and expensive) one I bought in February. "Survived" both trips I did since then. What I have done was buying a lock so I can fasten the laptop to the bed or something heavy which cannot be moved with a steel wire.

Try this

No wonder, you do not get a reply. This addy is wrong. Try this one instead: info@sandyspringhotel.com Never had any problems with emails, am a regular guest with them since 2 years although for my next trip I have chosen the Flipper Lodge. Hint: Ask for the Customer (Membership) Card (350 Baht valid one calendar year). This makes room rates cheaper (50 less than offered by Scandibar).

Who was in Sandy Spring?
FunIsAll replied to robert1961's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
This is NOT correct. With the card you will get the rooms 50 Baht cheaper than booking with Scandibar (do this now since almost 2 years, therefore should know) but of course you do not get a coupon for beer! -
I have stayed in both last year, anyway, cannot really compare as I had a deluxe at Sandy and a standard at Areca which also was some 200 Baht cheaper. I prefer the Sandy! I believe better value for money. Larger rooms and important for me no problems with telephone. Just a mere 8 Baht for a local Call without any interruption (I need a telephone for my laptop as I sometimes need to work and an internet connection). Hint: If you stay longer in Sandy ask for their membership card. It costs 350 Baht and is valid one calendar year. With this card you will get cheaper rates, normally 50 Baht a

Agree with Pattysteve, always use Mr. T, as said 850 plus toll plus parking fee. Never had a problem, normally let them know my Thai mobile number and get called before I get out of immigration just to let me know the driver is waiting.

Cannot say anything bad, stayed there for 2 nights last months. Just a standard room but ok for the price the charged (990 incl. breakfast). Well, breakfast times until 10am are not the best, so I dropped that.

Lee, will stay in Sandy Springs from Nov 10 - 18, if you are in town at the same time just give me a call at 06 8440910 -
Can recommend Pornping (Yes, they have the most famous disco in CNX called Bubbles!), book directly at http://www.pornpinghotelchiangmai.com forget the prices published on the page, email and you get better rates! Another good one is Down Town, belongs to the Empress Group: http://www.empresshotels.com/downtown_inn.htm

I have booked thru Scandibar three times this year and it always worked perfectly. Have now decided to make Sandy my home in Pattaya and therefore booked the next trip with the hotel directly using their membership card. Cost is 350 a year but savings compared to Scandi rate is 50B a night (I do not care about the free drink as I do not drink and have never been in the bar to check in my coupons), as I stay an average of 40 - 50 nights in Pattaya it pays off. Reservation confirmation was received within 24 hours, so no problems with direct communication with the hotel.

Just returned. Walking on Beach Road means you will not see any girls as you have to look down to avoid to fall into holes

Can anybody recommend decent hotels in Khon Kaen, if possible with home page or at least email contact. Prices up to 1500. Hotel should - of course - be joiner free and have telephone in room to connect laptop to the internet. Thank you.

Under 700 baht/night hotels
FunIsAll replied to terrybollea's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
If somebody looks for cheap hotels I recommend the Intown Holiday in Soi Honey (same as Bay Breeze). In low season between 450 and 550 B/night. Reservations by mail at info@intownholiday.co.th, give them a couple of days to reply, they are not the fastest. Try always to get a room to the back side (Soi 10) where you will not have any noise at all. -
..and that is why most people on this board recommend not to take these rooms but the sea view rooms instead! And there I did not have any problems with noise at all (see my earlier post) and I have booked them again for my upcoming trip in August. But if you do not like the area stay somewhere else, up to you! But IMHO you should not attack other boardies who like to area and ask for info how to get around the noise! Just my 2 satangs!
