Hi Guys Say I was wanted to send money from THAILAND to the UK. First, can anyone recommend a THAI bank I can open an account with that would allow this. And second where would the currency conversion happen - Thailand or my home country. I am guessing it would be better to get it converted in Thailand but not sure. Anyone got any experience of this. Even better if it was with transferring to the UK Thanks Dan

Personally I stick with CAT5 or wifi for the networking as it is easier, and you can get GigE now. But even 54Mbps Wifi is enough to stream most videos

Bruce / Pete The next thing you guys want is a Network Attached Storage device, I have been looking at getting the linksys NAS200 which is very new but has some great features. It is basically a box with a network port and 2 SATA ports inside plus a number of USB2 ports on the outside. Hoping to get one in the UK as soon as it is available and before my potential relocation. I currently have about 1.5TB of staorage here and most of that is not hooked up to a PC, but always looking for beter faster alternatives. I am guessing it is cheaper to buy the PC bits from Pantip in BKK rat

Very usefull post Pete I have been looking at putting together a MEDIA center PC similar to yous, except I cant seem to to get the cost below about 160,000 BHAT (at an exchange rate of 70 ~ 1). I like the new Core 2 Duo's but they don't yet have the clock speed of the Pentium D's. So looks like I will hang on, also for the HDMI graphics card either that or a convertor for DVI -> HDMI. Next time I am in town, might like a look at your set-up if you don't mind. For the moment, I will stick with my old XBOX and XBMC, same software as Media Portal, only it doesnt do HD. so

I always fly EVA out of LHR and can not fault them. Occasionally check-in is a little slow, but other than that the service and baggage alowance is pretty good. Perhaps I have just been lucky

Sunshine Vista Serviced Apartments
w3bmast3r replied to stevoman's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
No tea money for guests Very guest friendly hotel. Always have good deals on aswell - usually get at least 2 nights free on most trips so all good. Nice location - you can go to the bottom of the soi and get a baht bus to walking street - or if you want to get their quicker take a moto taxi. Very close to Big C and cinemas, restaurants and shops - all in a very good location -
Sunshine Vista Serviced Apartments

I have also stayed at Sunshine Vista Serviced Apartments (SVSA) many times, and always book throught res24.org. Always asked to pay deposit and then full balance 4 weeks prior to arrival, and Ihave never had a problem with it. But then I have never wanted to change hotels during my stay so no worries for me! -
I was in sunshine vista last month, and WIFI was only available in the lobby, as I checked on my floor (2nd) and it was unavailable there. Also the wireless in sunshine is NOT FREE! Quite expensive at about 200BHT per hour (approx.). Now in the ideal world - what you need is a room right next to the bella villa - so you can BORROW their free internet. If you are not bothered about internet - then I still recommend sunshine vista, rooms are great, clean, nice size. Staff are friendly and it is my regular hotel - pool is also good with a swim up bar - just love that Dan

I will always remember her smile and that cheeky grin. Never got to know her that well - but she always made me smile when I saw her.
