  1. Nice looking place. I wish I was in a position to buy it. Good luck with your sale.
  2. I have to agree that the music selection is just right played at the volume that it is. You have done a great job with your place, I won't change a thing.
  3. Pete you are a marketing genius. Great idea, I love it.
  4. I flew them once a number of years ago. On the return leg, I had an 8 hour layover in Korea. Overall the service on the flights were great, and the flight attendants really cute. I did get upgraded to business class on one of the legs because the flight was oversold in economy. Overall, not a bad experience.
  5. Great job Pete. Thanks for all the updates, it really makes me homesick. I look forward to visiting you bar this far when I return.
  6. Valid question. It was from a conversation I overheard between an individual and immigration office that standing in another line. I was in line for another reason and by the time I finished my business, all parties involved in the first question were long gone. I really didn't feel like standing around waiting for an answer to the question as I'm quite a few months from having to deal with this particular issue. I asked the question here because there is a wealth of information here and I'm sure others have had to deal with this issue before. Thanks for asking.
  7. Thanks, that sounds fairly simple.
  8. I am currently in Thailand on a type O-A multiple entry visa (retirement) which expires on January 3, 2009. I just came from immigration where I completed my 90 day reporting requirement. While I was there, another individual was trying to renew his retirement visa. The immigration officer kept asking him for his bank book and he kept saying that he had a letter verifying his retirement income. My question is: If you are basing your renewal of the visa on a monthly retirement income of 65,000 baht or more, do you still have to have a Thai bank account? If you do need a Thai bank account do you have to show 800,000 baht balance? Thanks for the assistance.
  9. One of the best posts I've read regarding a retirement visa. Thank you for posting.
  10. 33 days and counting, but this is my last countdown as I'm retiring and moving to Thailand. I've just about got everything in order for the big day. I can hardly wait.
  11. I only had to bring a copy of my estimated retirement income from my employer to get my visa. I have -0- dollars in a Thai bank. They accepted everything at face value.
  12. I just got my O-A multiple entry visa through the Thai Consulate in Portland, Oregon. It was no problem. I was in and out in 5 minutes. They were extremely helpful through the entire process. I was worried about the required medical certificate but they told me that I only needed a note from my doctor stating that I was not being treated for any of the listed conditions. Only about one month before I leave for a long anticipated retirement in Thailand.
  13. About 4 years ago, I left for Thailand with only 3 months left on my passport. Didn't realize it until I was getting off the plane in Bangkok. I kept my mouth shut and went through Immigration with no problems. They didn't even look at the expiration date. I might have just been lucky, but have heard of others with similar experiences to mine.
