I met one I think in the Alamo Bar last April. I think if you are looking to hang out with your own countrymen, then you should set up a large group trip. No one cares where you are from when you are in LOS. We are all there for the same thing. Fun in the sun. So, just go and meet new friends and have a good time. "It's up to you" as they say.

Where ever turns you on. Being an American my self, I go where ever the action is. If you want a place to hang out during the day, check out the Alamo Bar on Soi 8, up from Beach Rd. Gary is an American that has lived in Thailand for a long period of time. The Alamo is where the local Americans and those in country will stop in for a few. Until you experience Songkran, you have not had a good time. It's only 5 or 6 hours during the day when it is HOT. Go and enjoy the girls in their wet t-shirts, etc. Walk around Soi7/8, Beach Rd. and Second Rd. and watch the fun and be part of it. IMHO, Songkran is a blast.

Hilly What is your impression of AC compared to Pattaya? If you think AC is ok, you sure missed the best place to have a good time in Subic Bay in the 70's and 80's. What a place to have a good time and cheap. I like AC, last time there 1992. But in reading posts on here and checking out a few AC sites, it seems to high in hotel prices compared to what it used to be. If you feel like going down to Subic, go to Barrio Barretto or Subic City. Only a few clubs around, laid back.

Hilly I agree with your comments about this stupid thread. For me, I went to LOS or in the past Subic Bay for the LBFM's and the atmosphere when I was in the Navy. And I am trying to make yearly trips to LOS now just to get away from this damm place (US). Have you ever been to Subic Bay in the 70's/80's when it was the best place to party? I stayed at the QV last April and had one of the Penthouse rooms. It was very roomy and had plenty of closet space to use. Girl friendy for sure. I paid 700 baht per night and was still getting the same price per night for my next trip in April. email Bert and he will be most helpful.

I stayed a the QV last April and had no problems as Bert is a great guy. YThe Penthouse rooms are the best at 700 baht per night. Nice and big with plenty of closet space and a TV and DVD player. You will be given two keys when you check in. One is for the door to your room and the other is for the door in the rear of the hotel that has a stairwell. It opens the door on the second floor so you can gain access to the stairwell inside to get up to your There is a guard there all night and he will sign in your TG for the night and ask for her ID to keep till morning. I used Sutin Fine Arts last April for two oils of my two grandsons. I was happy with the work. But you need to ensure that Mr. Sutin has a clear understanding of how many you want. He did not understnad as I wanted two of the same oil, I only got one. He has a small stall on Beach Rd. Soi 13 in a market setting. Don't look for what you see on his web site as that is a very old picture.

IU agree with Bass GOd, why would you want to spend that much for a room every night? Here are a good hotels for half that price that are just as good. To spend so much $$ on a hotel you are in for maybe 8 hours a day is just taking away from the rest of your trip fun times. I know there are some on here who go on vaction to have a nice relaxing time. It just seems to me that the etra money could be better spent.

Thanks Just in time for the high season as it comes in to play. Wonder if it will kill the high season next year or even the low season after the hoildays? Sad to see this coming as it just makes those that want to have a good time at night look for other places to go.

ok, unless I have fell asleep at the wheel, when did this start? When I was there last April, it still was 2 am closing. I was under the impression that this move was put on hold for a while a few months ago. Now I find out it has been put into effect. I would agree with some from the past that this move will have punters rethinking their trips to Pattaya and Bangkok. Stayed at the Queen Victoria Inn last April on Soi 6. Great Penthouse rrom for 750 baht a night. Tim's Bar and Hotel is another great place that has jacuzzi in the larger rooms for 800 Baht a night. Having a beer bar down stairs is not that bad. THe girls are nice in the Go Go Bar. Friends did not have a problem there. Rasied in New York City, so I like the Rangers and Islanders. Rangers have been disappointing the last four or so years. I also like the Avs, Sharks, Red Wings, Devils, Bruins, B. H's.. As a hold, I just like hockey and watch every game that is on the TV when I can. Great sport, fast with a lot of action, like football on ice, but with that extra you get with the fighting.

I used United for my last trip in April out of Seattle for $734.00 RT. The flight arrives into Bangkok around 2315 at night. The service was good to Narita, but then it was shitty to Bangkok. When we asked about a few of the problems, we were blown off by the attenedent. It was the same on the return trip to Narita. The flight out of Japan to Seattle was great again. 777 are better than the 747's they use from Japan to bangkok. The crew that operates from Japan to bangkok is not worth much. Go see Gary at the Alamo Bar on Soi 8 left side as you come up from Beach Rd. He can set up a four some with you and others who live in Pattaya. He like to go a few times a week. Tell him that John (Rocky's friend) sent you. He sets up a vehicle for all of you. He's good people to be around.
