Question about the RG Hotel
PlanetWave replied to PigBoy#1's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I tried a few hotels before staying at the RG - Its now my hotel of choice when in Pattaya. I like the location - its half way between South Pattaya and Jontien (where some hidden gems can be uncovered). It can be entertaining sitting on the balcony early evening watching the passing parade wend their merry way into Pattaya. There is a baht bus that stops opposite the RG(crossing the road early evening can be fatal - so be careful). The Rooms are great - the staff is friendly - the resturant is excellent - there is a pool - no problem with TGs- and IB the owner is a good bloke (even if he does -
Have recently returned from Chiang Mai - stayed at the Imperial Mai Ping - approx 2,000 baht per night - great place - also if you are looking for a tour company - try Next Door Tours not far from the night Bazaar - ask for Ooy - she is a honey and very helpful.l

Steve - I'm not staying at Flipper House - but that neck of the woods is where I hang out - I'll ask for you at the Beer Bar - first round is on me. - Regards Wayne

Thanks Ray - Don't worry I'm Australian so I'm quite civilised, well mannered and refined - unlike your typical pommy Arsenal supporter :) - Ben I'll bring a bottle of Bundy for ya mate

Stoace - I'm a newbie to golf - have had a few games and love the game - but I'm shite. One of my goals while I'm in Pattaya is to improve my golf game (among other things). If you want a golf partner when you are in town let me know - I'll be arriving in town December 22nd - Ray, if you don't mind, I'll ask for you at the FLB - maybe we can play a round or 2. :)

Stayed there last year - and have booked there again for my next trip. Is my place of choice when in Pattaya and believe me I'm a fussy guy.

The info about goldfish will find its way into my next footy trivia night.

Mini-Review - Flipper House, Soi 7
PlanetWave replied to Harvey's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Ahh yes! - Harvey - looking at the room brings back beautiful memories. I enjoyed my stay there. The location and pool can't be beat - the only hassle I had was with the AC - Two temps arctic or non -existent. I bought a fan and that did the trick. Enjoy your stay mate - sorry about "you know who". -
Thanks

Looks ok - Do they take Credit Cards?

Question to anyone staying at the R.G.
PlanetWave replied to Leadbelly's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I stayed at the RG in January. Didn't notice any noise from the building site. Most mornings I slept to mid / late morning without any disturbance. From the look of it the building wont be finished by May - but I'd suggest you check with Ib at the RG he would probably know. -Enjoy your trip. -
Flipper vs Res. Garden vs Mark-land
PlanetWave replied to herodotis's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I stayed the Residence Garden in January 03. I'm a fussy guy and this is where I'll be staying on future visits - for 1350 baht a night you can't beat it. Had everything I wanted. I've stayed at places that cost a lot more and don't compare. - Pete I submitted a review for the RG over a week ago did you receive it? -
Please cancel Reservations at RG
PlanetWave replied to BigDUSA's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I've had the same experience with Ib. I recently cancelled part of my stay 5 weeks prior to arrival. Felt like a prick cancelling on him during the busy season - I received an email from Ib thanking me for letting him know. He seems like a nice guy and deserves our support. :) -
Fellas - thanks for the info. I have made a reservation at the Mae Ping. If either of you are around in early or late January I owe you a drink.
-
AJ - Thanks for the info. :)

Intend to spend a few days in Chiang Mai in January. Does anyone know of a reasonable hotel around 2,000 baht per night that accepts Credit Cards? :)
-
I've asked this question before but forget the answer - Where in Pattaya can I catch a baht bus to Jontien.
-
Dano - I'm intrigued to know how this would work - is she allocated certain days for each guy - or would it be say she's mine from midday - midnight and yours from midnight to midday? - (That'd suit me cause after midnight I fall asleep anyway.) - or heaven forbid you and me with her at the same time? ;D
