I flew Korean from BKK to Inchon and then Inchon to Atlanta. I had no complaints, flights were on time, and service was good. Delta and their partners are my choice right now as well. For me, the layover time is shorter as is the total trip time. I'm willing to pay a little more to get to Pattaya 3 and a half hours earlier and still save a night on the town.

$777 is a good price. I'm planning to return in October and the cheapest listed on Travelocity from Fort Myers to Bangkok right now is $774 for my time frame. Of course those fares are mostly only good if you can depart and return on a weekday although some airlines include weekends as well. I will probably wait until early June to book it though..........or maybe not.

I'm on a cable modem and this is the slowest it has ever been for me. It took over a minute to get this reply page up. All the other web sites I visit are fast as normal.

I'm not sure if they are still having the schools since they are trying to sell the restaurant but my friends wife had classes at their restaurant as of last year. AungKam Northern Thai Restaurant 3rd Road North Pattaya (Next to Pattaya Driving Range) Her name is Konika if she is still there.

I usually try to come NW as well. Last year they had a "miles and cash" deal going and got a ticket from Florida for $600. No such luck sofar this year so I'm paying $820 for Delta/JAL and get into BKK 3+ hours earlier than on NW.

Suggestions for Hotel In South Pattaya
LBJ replied to LBJ's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll make sure to drop in the FLB this trip as well. Hope to meet some of you there. -
I was there in June last year and yeah it's hot, and yeah it's humid but I never wore shorts at night and I was very comfortable. I don't sweat like a pig but I had two years of living in Pattaya and two years of living in Saudi Arabia to get used to it. I always look for a fan to sit under or make a visit to my favorite air-conditioned go-go's. I'll be there in April as well.

Thanks Tabmule. Things aren't exactly like I'd like them (but then when are they) But it's not bad. I got rid of the gambling addicted wife and am at least making some headway. Good enough to take a couple of three week trips to Pattaya every year if things continue as they are now.

I need some help choosing a hotel for my trip in April. My first trip to Pattaya in 9 years was last June and I didn't recognize the place. I stayed at an old friends guesthouse in North Pattaya and although it suited my needs, I found all the baht bus rides and motorcycle taxis to be too much. Since I spend most of my time in South Pattaya, I was hoping some of you with more up-to-date info could offer me some advice. For something in the 500-1000 Baht per night range, I'm looking for at least a double bed, air, private bath, decent TV and reasonable security for my posessions and no problems

Not a chance. If I had the same amount of money as I lost before, I would buy a house for in Pattaya for the retirement years. It's recreation only from now on. Should have bought that house in 1989!

Hello Eric, LBJ's Pool Hall in 1989 was located on South Pattaya Road near Soi Bongkot. Thats about halfway between Sukhumvit and Beach Road. In 1989 that location sucked but today it would be sweet....maybe.

I'm new to your forums but not new to Pattaya. My first visit was in 1986 and I lived and lost money in Pattaya from 1989 to 1991 with the short-lived bar called LBJ's Pool Hall. I made my first visit to Pattaya since 1994 last year in June and I think I enjoyed it more than ever. I am single again after nine years of marriage and I plan on making yearly trips to Pattaya in April and October starting this year. Looking forward to getting to know the fellow members and hopefully meeting in Pattaya in the future.

Big AL I was in Pattaya last June and I had a procedure done at the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. I had a fatty tumor on my arm and needed it removed before it got any larger. I am self-employed and don't have insurance. The best price I could find here in Florida was $11,000 for a 30 minute procedure. My bill in Pattaya came to a whopping $150 which included the surgery, the meds, and the follow-up visits. The doctor did a great job and you can't even tell I had my arm cut open. And my 3 week vacation in Pattaya went on without a hitch. If it is minor surgery like mine was, I think you will be fi
