  1. Thanks Sateef, BJ is a friend of mine from when I lived in Pattaya and I've stayed at the guesthouse. I knew he was building a new hotel, but I couldn't get in contact with him before my last trip. I will try the email in the review section. I'm a Colts fan myself.
  2. Anybody know of a website or email address for BJ Holiday Lodge?

I wa just there June6-18 and Happy Go-Go was open til 2am everynight.
  4. I got an email from NW about this and it clearly states in the "terms and conditions", that travel to Bangkok is not part of the sale. However that is a decent price you got.
  5. nose hair, ear hair, stray eyebrows, I try to clean up good, after all I have an image to maintain.........mostly for myself.
  6. I see too many Americans everyday. When I'm in Thailand, I'm not really looking for them, but if I run into some and they want to run the bars, I'm game. Gotta watch out for the ones from Minnesota though. At least they don't wear speedos on the beach.
  7. Have flown them twice coming back to the States out of BKK. I find them to be very good service-wise and the planes are about as comfortable as any other 777 economy class, better than some. Inchon Airport is very modern and easy to get around. If you arrive there in daylight, the views of Korea from the air are excellent.
  8. Stick to the BG's rb, they're more cooperative.
  9. I noticed that the flight duration is only 15 minutes difference between the legs. Does that seem right? I thought the east to west flight would be much longer than the west to east. Unless they are flying west to east on both flights.
  10. I truly envy you Alan. I am slowly working on my own plan to retire in Thailand. I won't be there by the time I'm fifty, but I hope it will be in the not too distant future. Good luck and enjoy every minute of your dream retirement.
  11. I'm too late. it's over. :crying
  12. Wow, hired in just 2 days, me thinks the Baklava is stinking.
  13. Hey Mister Handy, That was me talking about the Dynasty. Their beds are the most comfortable for me that I have found yet. I'm staying there again next month for exactly that reason. Just hope the construction noise isn't too bad. Some folks believe that hotel mattresses have a soft and a hard side, so if you flip it you will find what you want. I have never tried it myself. The Dynasty fits all your criteria, but the construction may ruin that. If it's too bad, I will just relocate.
  14. Hey ph, I'll tell you a little about the Dynasty Inn as I stayed there in Oct04. About a year and a half old so everything works well, bed was comfy, bathroom was good with plenty of pressure and warm water. No in-room safes but safety boxes at front desk can be accessed 24 hours. TV channels are limited. Food is ok but is cheaper to eat elswhere. Laundry service was good. Be warned construction on Soi 13 has been and still is going on next door. When I stayed there I was not bothered by it on the 7th floor. I like the location as I spend most nights on walking street and it's abou
  15. I thought about making a poll out of this, but I think there are just too many variables. Unless you own a place in Pattaya, or have friends or family to stay with, you most likely will stay in a hotel or guesthouse. Why do you stay where you stay? Is it the location, the price, or are the maids willing and able? Whatever the reason, name the place and why it gets your money. As stated in another post, the hotel reviews are sparse and mostly out of date, so this may help those looking for their first time or just a better option. My current hotel of choice is the Dynasty In
  16. Dave, that looks like my exact reservation for my Feb 13th flight except I'm leaving out of Fort Myers at 0520.
  17. I have been flying Delta out of Fort Myers on my last two trips and will the next one in Feb. The last two went through Tokyo and and connected with JAL and got me into BKK at 2015. Thats early enough to save the night. Since the time change back to standard time, I can't catch that JAL flight next month and will be connecting to Thai and arriving at 2215. Still not too bad. The returns have either gone through Inchon or Tokyo with either Korean or Untited out of Bangkok and then switching back to Delta either in Tokyo or Atlanta depending on the connecting city. I used Travelo
  18. Just stayed at the Dynasty in October. Room was very good. Bed was not rock hard like many hotels. Air-con worked great. Bathroom was fine and water was hot. TV ok but only about 10 channels. 2 bottles of free water everyday which is nice. Staff was helpful and friendly. Yes it is guest friendly. Swimming pool is on the roof and is small. More like a large hot tub. Did not seem to be used much at all when I was there. I didn't notice any loud noises at night on the 7th floor where I stayed. Be warned however, there is construction going on right next to it. If you are
  19. I've always wanted to get a little pussy on a plane as well.
  20. When I stayed at BJ's Guest House on Beach Road and Soi 1 in 2003, BJ told me they were building a new, larger hotel closer to South Pattaya. I believe it was going to be on Beach Road as well. I've tried to stay in contact with him, but his email address on his website doesn't seem to work any longer. I thought it was planned to open soon, so I was wondering if anyone has any news or even knows what I'm talking about.
  21. Pretty sure Delta will take them as they are part of that Skyteam. Their flight attendants aren't any younger or prettier however.
  22. I get mine mostly from travelocity. I've tried finding the same low fares on the airlines websites but it has never worked for me. I talked to a rep on the phone and she said travelocity's are lower because the airline sells those seats to them to sell at whatever price they want. I'd like to book from the airlines directly, but the price has never been as good unless it's an advertised sale such as Northwest's fall sale to asia or their cash and miles offers.
  23. That's most likely up to the financial establishment that's transfering it for you. Your bank, credit card company, Western Union, etc. You'll have to ask them. When I was married in the 90's, I sent money from my bank to my mother-in-law in NE Thailand and my bank charged me $6 per transfer regardless of amount.
