  1. Who is Eric-e? I never complained, but if your saying this forum is "always fair," well then you're setting yourself up for some flames as well. No forum can state that. And some believe they can rescue their poor quality posts by putting lots of smilies in them. Well, bruiser, it did not help you. And, as I said, you really set yourself up for the above flames.
  2. Had a quick visit there last night, around 11 PM. Not many girls there, but a very nice place. The male Thai bartender had some English trouble, though, but that will soon pass. I asked what kind of bottled beer they had. "Heineken," he said. "Only Heineken?" I asked. "Yes." "Not San miguel light?" "No". "What is in that trunk with San Miguel logo on?" "Oh, that is San Miguel light..." I found it more funny than annoying, but maybe put a short drink menu on the bar would be a good thing (maybe it was there, but I did not see it, and I looked). I will pay a repeat visit at another hour. I know this is mainly a place to meet freelancers, but I think it is a brilliant place to bring a girl for some late drinks by the sea.
  3. I posted this on another forum, but I might as well crosspost in this forum, as most of it relates to this birthday party. ----- I had some trouble last night. Firstly I had a sunburn that hurt like hell. It made me look fresh faced and not like a pale Norwegian viking, but it was painful. Secondly a corn of sand or something had made a rift in my right eye. That has happened before and means I cannot put a contact lens on that eye; it will be OK in a day or two. As I forgot my glasses back home, I had two options: 1. Go out as an one-eyed bandit or 2. Buy me some glasses. I opted for number 2. And fast and fairly cheep it was. I chose a frame from Porsche Design that made me look very smart, had a test of sight (spot on) and they put the glasses in. Total time spent: 45 minutes. In Norway this would have taken two weeks. Then I put on a crisp white shirt and hit soi 8, looking at myself in the mirror I did not look like myself at all. I was going to test out a theory that TGs like hot guys with glasses, and I was spot on. There was this party announced on Pattayapages forum, Hammer - the Cherry bar-owner - had a birthday party (same age as myself). I bought him a drink. I told the girl behind the bar: "Tell your boss he can have a ladydrink on my tab for his birthday". She looked at me and said: "He does not go with customers." What? I used the word LD just to tell her I was OK with them hitting me with the provision. We cleared the misunderstanding. Hammer was hammered at that point. The bar was unusually lively. A lot of forum faces. The main problem with this bar now is: It is very small and is located next to a bar named "The Best Bar". This bar has it's name justified by two things: It is always (when I have passed by) filled with customers and there are some very hot girls working there. Of one of the on-bar dance sessions I tell you I would easily go with three out of four girls. But I did not. I hooked up with the best looking Cherry girl. Then it all went a bit haywire. Cherrygirl told me she had some other customers to take care of between kissing me. I thought OK, she has a role in the birthday party. But I soon realized this was guys she had fucked before that insisted on buying her ladydrinks, so she left me, drank, then came back. I held my face for a while, I had fun. Then I checked bin. "Why you not barfine me," she said. I did not tell her why. I just said I might come back. Then I walked 40 meters towards Beach Road, and met this lovely girl outside a bar. So I asked her: "If I take you back to hotel, what can you do to me sexually, are you good?" She replied in the line of: "If I can take it up my ass?". I said "Yes?" "How big are you?" she asked. "Like medium," I lied. I will end this story now. I felt a little bit bad about that session. We agreed on 1500 baht short time. I gave her 2000 baht plus some taxi money, because of my little lie.
  4. Used them once. No problems.
  5. I stayd there july 2006, I found it a bit oldish. The pool area is great, but there are better hotels for this price in this town.
  6. I have tested most Bittorrent clients, and in my view the best are: Windows: Bitcomet Linux: Ktorrent (I wish Bitcomet was available for Linux)
  7. I'm surprised by the current prices. I paid 1500 baht a night for a standard room (that is deluxe by Bangkok standards) last July. It is a very good hotel, but not worth 4000 baht a night.
  8. In that area around 3000 bath, I would go for Mastic Grande. It is a great hotel, modern rooms, great pool, and right in the middle of Nana. A short walk to all your thingies...
  9. As discussed earlier, their new online reservation system have some bugs...
  10. I've uploaded some pictures, mostly of my room in Tim Royal Residence: Pictures from Tim Royal Residence
  11. It looks like Monopoly money... Another sign of a fresh started hotel. My room did not have a balcony, and looking at the facade picture I took a couple of weeks ago - none of them has. But the air-con is real good - and as the rooms are all brand new, it is very clean (as CG said: Nice to come back to a room knowing thousands of people have not fucked in it). Altough I expect the bookings in this hotel will pick up, when I was there it was almost empty - so I guess for a few months ahead just arriving in the reception with no prebooking will give a result. A nice touch I had, when returning from a two day trip to Koh Samet: I was given the same room I had before. And, if you're not really want to spend the extra money - and do not have to have the jacuzzi, the basic room is more than big enough. I guess it's about 35 sq metres, and that is not called "standard" in Bangkok, more like a Premiere or Deluxe. Very good TV-reception, huge bathroom with both shower and a large bathtub, and a very big and comfy bed (one of the best hotel beds I slept in, and I'm choosy). The picture on their website show two single beds in this room, but I guess you can specify if you would like a kingsize. I have some pictures of the place, if I can find a way to post them, then I will. I asked my girl in Pattaya, Pearl, who have got a new room to stay in now, if she liked it. "Yes, it is OK. But it is not remotely like your room in Pattaya." Earlier, when she first entered this room, she said: "If I get myself an apartment, I will like it very much it to look like this".
  12. Give them a chance, you will not regret. The hotel is new, and so is the staff - I guess it takes some time to get it all things to work. But they are very service-minded and helpful in the hotel.
  13. I believe 2500 is high season price. My friend was quoted 1500 baht for September when he asked in the reception.
  14. Tim's bar is still where it used to be. The hotel is in a small soi just around the corner.
  15. Sorry, can not help you with another email address (maybe you can track down Tim's bar and ask them?). Would think phone would be a safer way. It is a very good choice of hotel, surprisingly good. Better than many of the 4-5 star I stayed in Bangkok. My friend made a booking for September, and they confirmed this was still low season and 1500 baht a night for the "basic" room - and the basic room is a large deluxe by Bangkok standards. And the pool is the best I've seen in Thailand cities.
  16. Checked out again today. Again, no trace of joiner fee on my bill.
  17. CG is correct. I'm staying there now and have been for almost a week. I have taken several girls back to the room. They ask for girls ID, that's it. No joiner fee. I checked out to go to Koh Samet, then in again. No joiner fee attached to my bill: 1500 baht a night. A great hotel, for 1500 baht a night it is a real bargain.
  18. Agree, very good.

  20. And according to another thread, 300 baht joiner fee.
  21. The site you quouted says "opening soon". What is that all about?
  22. Half Norwegian/Swiss.
  23. I'm considering skipping Pattaya, or at least I will improvise when I get to LOS. - I have booked 9 nights at Sviss Grottinio in BK. From then I do one of two things: 1. Head to Pattaya and stay there for some nights. If I LOVE it, I might stay... 2. Check into one of President Solitaires Platinum suites and give myself a good treat the rest of my stay. That is my plan, if I'm not getting convinced otherwise...
