Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

Who is Eric-e? I never complained, but if your saying this forum is "always fair," well then you're setting yourself up for some flames as well. No forum can state that. And some believe they can rescue their poor quality posts by putting lots of smilies in them. Well, bruiser, it did not help you. And, as I said, you really set yourself up for the above flames.

Girls, girls, too many girls.
erik_e replied to PattayaPete's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Had a quick visit there last night, around 11 PM. Not many girls there, but a very nice place. The male Thai bartender had some English trouble, though, but that will soon pass. I asked what kind of bottled beer they had. "Heineken," he said. "Only Heineken?" I asked. "Yes." "Not San miguel light?" "No". "What is in that trunk with San Miguel logo on?" "Oh, that is San Miguel light..." I found it more funny than annoying, but maybe put a short drink menu on the bar would be a good thing (maybe it was there, but I did not see it, and I looked). I will pay a repeat visit at another hour -

I posted this on another forum, but I might as well crosspost in this forum, as most of it relates to this birthday party. ----- I had some trouble last night. Firstly I had a sunburn that hurt like hell. It made me look fresh faced and not like a pale Norwegian viking, but it was painful. Secondly a corn of sand or something had made a rift in my right eye. That has happened before and means I cannot put a contact lens on that eye; it will be OK in a day or two. As I forgot my glasses back home, I had two options: 1. Go out as an one-eyed bandit or 2. Buy me some glasses. I opted for number

erik_e replied to toopach's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Used them once. No problems. -
I stayd there july 2006, I found it a bit oldish. The pool area is great, but there are better hotels for this price in this town.

I have tested most Bittorrent clients, and in my view the best are: Windows: Bitcomet Linux: Ktorrent (I wish Bitcomet was available for Linux) -
Tim Royal Residence/Boutique Hotel
erik_e replied to stjames1892's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I'm surprised by the current prices. I paid 1500 baht a night for a standard room (that is deluxe by Bangkok standards) last July. It is a very good hotel, but not worth 4000 baht a night. -
In that area around 3000 bath, I would go for Mastic Grande. It is a great hotel, modern rooms, great pool, and right in the middle of Nana. A short walk to all your thingies...

As discussed earlier, their new online reservation system have some bugs...

I've uploaded some pictures, mostly of my room in Tim Royal Residence: Pictures from Tim Royal Residence

It looks like Monopoly money... Another sign of a fresh started hotel. My room did not have a balcony, and looking at the facade picture I took a couple of weeks ago - none of them has. But the air-con is real good - and as the rooms are all brand new, it is very clean (as CG said: Nice to come back to a room knowing thousands of people have not fucked in it). Altough I expect the bookings in this hotel will pick up, when I was there it was almost empty - so I guess for a few months ahead just arriving in the reception with no prebooking will give a result. A nice touch I had, when

Give them a chance, you will not regret. The hotel is new, and so is the staff - I guess it takes some time to get it all things to work. But they are very service-minded and helpful in the hotel.

I believe 2500 is high season price. My friend was quoted 1500 baht for September when he asked in the reception.
-
Tim's bar is still where it used to be. The hotel is in a small soi just around the corner.
-
Sorry, can not help you with another email address (maybe you can track down Tim's bar and ask them?). Would think phone would be a safer way. It is a very good choice of hotel, surprisingly good. Better than many of the 4-5 star I stayed in Bangkok. My friend made a booking for September, and they confirmed this was still low season and 1500 baht a night for the "basic" room - and the basic room is a large deluxe by Bangkok standards. And the pool is the best I've seen in Thailand cities.

Checked out again today. Again, no trace of joiner fee on my bill.
-
CG is correct. I'm staying there now and have been for almost a week. I have taken several girls back to the room. They ask for girls ID, that's it. No joiner fee. I checked out to go to Koh Samet, then in again. No joiner fee attached to my bill: 1500 baht a night. A great hotel, for 1500 baht a night it is a real bargain.

Agree, very good.

I sent a email asking for this July, nothing clever in response other than this: Dear Sir, We send the detail of Tim Royal Residence as following below: Daily Rates Room Type Room Rate Room Rate include ABF - Superior 1,500 Baht 1,650 Baht - Deluxe 2,300 Baht 2,450 Baht - Junior Suite 3,500 Baht 3,650 Baht Joiner charge is 300 baht per person. And according to another thread, 300 baht joiner fee.

The site you quouted says "opening soon". What is that all about?

I'm considering skipping Pattaya, or at least I will improvise when I get to LOS. - I have booked 9 nights at Sviss Grottinio in BK. From then I do one of two things: 1. Head to Pattaya and stay there for some nights. If I LOVE it, I might stay... 2. Check into one of President Solitaires Platinum suites and give myself a good treat the rest of my stay. That is my plan, if I'm not getting convinced otherwise...
