Do not arrest me if I'm wrong about the price - but I believe Tim Boutique hotel (near Soi Diana) charges 100 baht/day for using the (great pool) - and that includes one soft drink in the pool bar.

Villa Market Second Road (the avenue) has them. But expensive, around 30 baht a piece. This must be a good business idea for Thai farmers.

How is the beds? (this has become my number one thing about Thai hotels - many of the otherwise great hotels in PTY have really hard beds that I cannot get a good nights sleep in)

This one has a great overview of the public holidays: http://portalseven.com/calendar/Holidays_Thailand.jsp?year=2012 Not one day in July!! (but I guess there is the election coming on?)

Nice place, but for food - not impressed. Orderede the pizza twice. First time it came out kind of soggy (as in soft, not crisp), the second time - last summer - it came out "not cooked at all". I had to leave it all on my plate, uneatable. "You should have said something to the manger", you may say. Yes, I did so on this forum. But it did not really help. But for cheap drinks and good location this is a great place. For food, not so much.

Any current info/recommendations. I cannot find any of the mentioned dentists at the Bankok Pattaya hospital homepage.

Heaven Above’s Current Specials And Offers

I kind of agree with the main line of thought in this thread. I`m late 30ies, fairly good looking (yea, I have to say so to myself), and been to PTY once a year for the last 5 or so. Always stop by HA once or twice - because they do have very hot girls in there. But I always get the feeling the girls are out of reach, quick onto stage, quick to retire to the back. I understand the concept of getting the girls attention - and in most gogos I have no problem heading to the stage - and look my chosen one into her eyes, smile and make a drink gesture with my hand. She will come over. In H -
Which motel has the best/biggest pool.

August suites - great pool, but crappy beds (would otherwise be a good choice) Tim Boutique Hotel - my every year fall-back hotel. Great hotel with great roof top pool, nice bar, friendly staff -
I sent them an email when in Bangkok, telling them I would book for a week at 1600 baht with breakfast, as that was what a friend told me was the "going rate". They phoned me a couple of hours later telling me I could get it for "1600 if pay every day - or 1500 baht if pay for 7 days." I said I could pay 7 days, but would have to see the room first. On arrival, they did not offer me to see the room, and I was both too tired and hung over to insist. So I put up the cash for 7 days + 2000 baht deposit (for something else). Bad mistake, could not sleep in the rock hard bed. Told them

I moved from August Suites to Tim because of the hard beds in August. Had heard about the construction, so I passed by to have a look. Lot of work, but construction, not destruction, so no jack hammers. I asked for a room on "the other side" and do not hear a thing from my room. I can sometime hear them from a distance when at pool, but its no annoyance. But it is one of those very unprotected construction sites, so I keep looking up the every time I pass the site, thinking something heavy is going to hit me in the head any moment. Tim (the old woman) told me Friday that the hotel

I stay Tim's Boutique hotel now. Comfy bed. I talked to a hotel manager in Bangkok about this, he runs a small hotel with great beds. He said they had a choice between the 2K baht "rock" bed and the 7k baht bed. They chose the "expensive" one, and that was proven to be a wise business decision . My guess - many hotels are built by Thais (that are used to and like hard beds) or people that save money on the wrong stuff. Buying a 20K baht LCD TV and a 2K baht bed is not the right call.
-
Yes, most are on the firm side of the scale, some on the rock side. I have stayed in about 20 hotels in Thailand - so far 3 hotels are on my black list for having a rock bed: Darjelin (bangkok) Baipho (Phuket) - I suspect this may be because their studio suites is built on - cement August Suites - pattaya I now stay in Tims Boutique Hotel. Firm bed, yes. But with spring action. Comfy for me.
-
I stay there now. It ticks all the right boxes but one for me: A very hard bed. I cannot sleep in it. Tonight I had to move to the sofa at 4 in the morning to get some sleep. So I'm moving out today. Other than that it is great, maybe best pool in town.

I did a search, and I found this close to my hotel! Brilliant. Will stop by tomorrow afternoon for a resupply of books. I will bring these new and great titles, that I have read through in just over a week: * Lee Child: 61 hours * David Baldacci: Deliver us from evil * Barry Eisler: Inside out * Andrew Grant: Even Some of them should be hard to find in Pattaya, so I thought I would post it here. I'll admit, I have a few pages left of Even, but it should get finished by the pool tomorrow, and in Certerbury by late afternoon.

Are there girls at The Pattaya Beer Garden?
erik_e replied to PattayaPete's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Went in there tonight (Sunday, around 20:45) for a bite and a beer. I had some trouble finding a free spot by the bar. Lots of girls. A bit old for me, but judged by the male clientèle, I would say the match was good. -
OK, an easier solution. Find a friend with a bit of knowledge and some kind of boot cd (linux) and a USB stick. Tell your friend to boot up the PC and mount the windows drive, then copy the stuff you need onto the USB stick. Simple.
-
If you have not got a password reset disk (see: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=321305 ), and my best guess you have not, this is what I would do: Take out the hard drive and mount it on another computer, then copy the stuff you need from it. If you want to use the computer with the lost password, reinstall Windows XP on it. There are some "hacking tools" out there that might get you logged on, but I would not bet on it, and my guess it would take you some time you would rather spend in a bar.

Hey, Coming into town in July. Have been staying av the Tim´s Boutique hotel the last three or four years, and like it a lot. But I seem to become a little bit too friendly with too many girls around that hotel, so looking for an alternative. And Tim is not brand new anymore. - Around 2000 baht a night. - Good location for nightlife - God bed - Must have a great pool with sun - Guest friendly Any suggestions?

LK Renasaince(?) or Tim's Boutique

Tell them in advance what you want. I never did that, and I have booked 5 stays here in 4 years, king size every time. -
LK Renasaince(?) or Tim's Boutique
erik_e replied to kikc69's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Writing this from a (great) room in Tim's Boutique. My fourth stay in this hotel. Have not stayed in LK R, but Tim is hard to beat. Great location, fantastic roof top pool (best in town?), good breakfast, very good, big rooms with great bed (I am picky), the reception could shape up their English (but this is Thailand). A little tip if you chose tim: the agoda does not include internet. I just realized they can provide a 350 baht package for 24 hours, and you can log on and out. So if you stay 12 days you have 2 hours every day, plenty. -
New Pizzas at the Pattaya Beer Garden
erik_e replied to PattayaPete's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
OK, I had two slices of pizza last night, 1 pepperoni and 1 bolognese. And now it was excellent, much better than the one I had at Slices in soi 7 the night before. Good that you listen to customer feedback. -
Have not read the other responses in this thread, but with your budget I would choose my hotel of choice (writing this from a room there now): Tim Boutique Hotel at second road soi 13,5 (or something, near Soi Diana). Go to www.agoda.com and you can book it at 1800 baht. Great rooms, guest friendly (no joiner fee, bring as many girls as you want), fantastic pool on top, good service, in room internet (1 baht per minute), great location. EDIT in: I just looked at some other posts here, one suggesting Areca Lodge. Stayed there, cheaper yes - but worn out rooms and not worth the money they as

New Pizzas at the Pattaya Beer Garden
erik_e replied to PattayaPete's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
I ordered a pepperoni "slices" pizza at PBG last night, two things: 1. The pizza is more like a 2 person meal. I ate half of it (not a complaint, just info). 2. It was not cooked like it should. It was soft, not crispy as it should be. It would also be nice not to have to ask for a plate to eat it on.
