Heh thanks guys really appreciate your help with this. The outcome, well, after a few e mails the hotel in question came down to 8.5bht a unit from the original 15bht a unit. Just goes to show anything can be bargained for in los. Thanks again Longy

Exactly my point bangkapiboy. If it costs approx 2000bht per month @ 7bht a unit then it'll be over 4000 bht per month @ 15bht a unit. Are these hotels just able to charge what they like? and has anyone else evr heard of it as high as 15bht a unit Longy

To those of you staying long time or residents can you clarify for me just how much your electricity is per unit. There appears to be no set in concrete amount. Some say 7 bht a unit and some say 10 bht a unit. Not a great deal of difference. However today I had a hotel quote me 15bht per unit. Can this be so? Wouldn't they be makeing a shit load of cash out of it themselves. So just what are you paying? Thanks Longy

Hi there guys, heading in town in May and June. Im hopeing someone may have an up to date knowledge of anything newish in the Buakoaw area. I prefer the samller hotels to the guesthouses but all considered. Have stayed on Soi LK but not a great fan due to everyone kind of knowing your business all the time, with the walk of shame/delight. Last year stayed at Thompson House but had a mixed stay due to it being 90% Indian owned/run/guests. I would stay again as I like its location but ... I dont have too many needs, just safe whether at reception or in room. Not bothered about pool

Stevo, these are not the Amazing Thailand fares. These fares are designed for passengers who want to fly but dont care about airmiles as they only credit you 50% mileage. Amazing Thailand deals to be published before the end of the month but will not be any cheaper then already mentioned fares but will have 100% mileage.

I have no idea where it is. Firstly im not sure if it is P K hotel, House, Inn or anything else. So I apologise for this. She does however claim it is P K hotel and that it is in or by the walkway next to kiss restaurant on 2nd rd. Now i've walked through there hundreds of times and im sure there is no hotel there. Of course it may turn out to be on soi diana but im just not sure. The only thing i do know is that it costs 700bht a night. Please does anyone know of this place. Thanks guys

Floyd, you must use the ff points before the end of the year they expire. If you make the booking before the end of the year then you can book in advance for the following year. Does that help you?

I also have stayed there and indeed it is a good hotel with honest staff. The price was 600 a night, but when i last went there in july '05, the price had increased to 700 a night. I asked to speak to On (the lovely receptionist but she was in norway) and as such no body could explain why i had an e mail from them stating the original price. A compromise was acheived of 650. This hotel is worth a look but is off the beaten track a little

Stayed in a place called 'ps appartments' on soi diana, just before LK Metropole. Paid 1000 bht for the rental for one month. My friend was there shorter and I think he paid 400 bht a week rental for the dvd players.

Steveo, Yes I have re reard my responce to you and indeed it does appear harsh. For this i apologise. I just get a wee bit pissed when people are not prepared to help themselves. If you are not one of these people then fair enough. I did see you had stated april onwards but you also stated you could go at a few days notice, that is why i responded. On a side issue I am organising another get together of which many auckland based members attended earlier this year. I think you were continually not able to make it due to one reason or another and in the end we done it without you. M

Steve, Heh my travel agent (flight centre) sent me an e mail today, $899 amazing thailand deals are now on for travel in jan to march. Seriusly you are retired so you have the time, you have a phone so you could phone around, you have the web to check for specials. I am not sure why you cant find out the specials yourself. Phone the flight centre now, or would you like us to do that for you?

Hi all, heading into town in just 13 days and will be around for 45 days. I know its quiet now and I should walk around and get a good deal, but does anyone know of any definite deals being offered at the mo. Haven't got any requirements as long as it is not a shit hole. Looking to pay around 10k for a condo/appt or 13k for a hotel on a monthly rate. Thanks Longy

Seems to me that most of the problems appeared to be sometime ago, infact over 2 years ago. Crikey maybe their service has now changed and is better. Shit who knows. Just seems like a long time to be holding a grudge, fair enough dont use them thats your choice. Everyone at some time has a poor experience with something/body in Thailand wether it be girl, restaurant, hotel or whatever. Let it go. Personally I had a terrible experience at Baybreeze hotel but dont choose to go on about it at every available opportunity. Longy
