I'm old, fat but not grumpy so I can identify with the FA. I'm retired so I have the luxury in being flexible with my travel dates. I also use the reservations service to book Star Alliance flights. I.ask if they can waive the booking fee and usually they will. Not being grumpy on the phone helps. I agree you have to be able to book months in advance. As you can see below I can book a FF saver award leaving PHL 5 Dec and returning from BKK 14 Dec. One of the hardest FF tickets to book is Hawaii. I could book three seats next April and return in May if I booked today. You have to book early but seats are available.. Airbus and Boeing products running behind schedule
BigDUSA replied to BigDUSA's topic in Idle Chit Chat
I quote what they offer off the Airbus website. Even with the new orders they are still well below the break-even point. I hope the EU taxpayer has a few more billion Euro's to cough up in support of Airbus. -
I made a mistake on the super saver. Your right it's saver awards. I just checked UA website and the earliest departure date was one day in December. Many days open up starting in January. I'm a Premier Executive level member FF. UA may make more availability for us. I know they do for 1K level.

Looking at the pictures, I would have cried when I left. Was their any extra charges for the kids activities? I'm going to book this hotel the next time I have my family come to Pattaya.

Airbus and Boeing products running behind schedule
BigDUSA replied to BigDUSA's topic in Idle Chit Chat
Boeing has 787 confirmed orders for the 787 airplane. All that matters is Boeing is very good at this. Compared to Airbus has 202 confirmed orders for the A380. Big difference in orders. Boeing is well past their break-even point and Airbus is well below their break-even point. -

Damn shame they have so few orders compared to Boeing. -
Pattaya Park Hotel, Jomtiem has a large water park for the kiddies. I've stayed there with my family a few times and I liked it. Our daughter loved the water park. It's away from the night life.

October 19, 2006 Airbus has raised sharply its break-even point for the A380 superjumbo to take into account delays and cash shortfalls in the mammoth project. The European planemaker told analysts in Hamburg on Thursday that it now needs to sell 420 of the double-decker jets to break even rather than its most recent estimate of 270, parent company EADS said on its web site. In all, it is budgeting for 751 deliveries, it said. So far Airbus has sold 159 superjumbo aircraft. Airbus also reported a EUR6.3 billion euro (USD$7.95 billion) cash shortfall from the two-year delivery delays disclosed last month, of which EUR4.8 billion (USD$6.06 billion) are an already reported gross profit shortfall while the rest stems from a net working capital deterioration of EUR1.5 billion (USD$1.9 billion). The German co-head of EADS believes the A380 will be a success, despite the problems with the plane. "I believe in the success of the A380 and I am certain that Airbus will return to its old strength," Tom Enders said in a press release issued at an air transport conference. The new boss of Airbus, EADS French co-Chief Executive Louis Gallois, has said a painful restructuring would be needed to put the planemaker back on track. Enders, who is also president of the German air transport and space industry association BDLI, said the industry in Germany needed to invest significantly in research and technology and develop new products quickly in the face of increasingly tough global competition. He added that political support was especially important for small and middle-sized suppliers. (Reuters) Airbus stopped reporting the break-even point after this story was printed. So far Airbus is nowhere close to the break-even point. I checked Airbus website and as of January 2010 they have 202 firm orders and when you add in the latest order they are still a long way from making the break-even point they posted years ago. Long way. -
I can fly PHL-BKK for 65K miles on UA using a super saver award.
-
CheshireTom did a excellent report on Seaside a couple of years ago. Maybe he'll dig up the post and repost it for you.
-
If your not happy with the price they charge. Take your business to another airline. It's nice they increased their order for the A380 but Airbus has a long way to go to meet the break even point.

I'm a Premier Executive level FF with United. I fly at least 50,000 paid miles with UA each year. So far I've had few problems booking flights from PHL-BKK or anywhere else with UA. I book months in advance and I'm flexible with my dates. I also like MM been able to book a short notice trip. BTW I use the super saver option. With UA as a Premier Executive FF, I get double miles, exit row seat and I'm one of the first ones on the plane. Plus I have received free upgrades to business and last but not least I get free admittance to the Red Carpet Club when I fly international. For me UA has worked fine.

Even with this order they still have a long way to go before they meet their break even point. Long way to go. -

Airbus and Boeing products running behind schedule

PARIS (AFP) – US aircraft manufacturer Boeing outstripped European rival Airbus in the race for orders in the first five months of the year, figures from the companies showed Thursday. From January to May, Airbus received 81 orders and eight cancellations, leaving a net total of 73. Boeing in the same period received 139 orders and 28 cancellations for a net total of 111. Airbus delivered 206 planes to customers from January to May while Boeing's deliveries came to 146 by the end of April. Airbus is this year aiming to win 250 to 300 net orders and to deliver 480 to 500 planes QUOTE Not a bad lead for Boeing going into June. -
I still saved 641 Baht when I beat latestays best discounted rate.
-
Gotta laugh at tommie once again. I told you from the beginning of my responses to you that I wasn't going to dig up the email of GM. But I did manage with just a little bit of digging to beat latestays with their as you put multi-million contract . I did save 641 Baht over their best rate for one night. BTW I enjoyed my stay at Cambridge.
-
Poor tommie's mad that I found a way to get discounted hotel rooms in the OFF SEASON. I was quoted a rate of 4K on the Marriott.com site with very little digging around for a one night stay in June. I saved 641 Baht off of latestays best rate.

Airbus and Boeing products running behind schedule

MOSCOW (Reuters) – U.S. aircraft maker Boeing (BA.N) has won an order from a Russian state company for up to 65 planes, nearly half its net order for 2009, beating European rival Airbus (EAD.PA) and a Russian manufacturer. Buyer Russian Technologies, which operates carrier Rosavia and has a deal with Aeroflot (AFLT.MM) to buy aircraft on behalf of the flag carrier and lease them, said it would announce details of the order soon. "In the near future, Russian Technologies in cooperation with Aeroflot (AFLT.MM) will issue specific orders for specific models," Russian Technologies said on its website (www.rostechnologii.ru). Earlier, Russian Technologies said the tender, contested by Boeing, Russia's United Aircraft Corporation (OAK) and Airbus, was for 50 midrange narrowbody planes with an option for 15 more. However, Aeroflot said it would continue buying from Airbus. It has chosen Airbus planes over Boeing in recent years, and analysts have said the carrier would have to make significant investment to accommodate new Boeing aircraft. A spokesman for Aeroflot said it was looking at leasing another 15 Airbus A320s in addition to the three due for delivery this year and 13 between 2011 and 2013. By the end of the year Aeroplot expects to operate 67 Airbus airliners. Aeroflot said it could, however, consider the commercial merits of a Boeing deal. "If Russian Technologies' offer (of Boeing aircraft) is in line with the market or below, we will consider it," the Aeroflot spokesman said by telephone. The two carriers were slated to merge their fleets, creating a single national champion airline. Aeroflot is effectively managing some of Rosavia's holdings while they are prepared for formal takeover by Aeroflot. Rosavia was created when Russian Technologies swept up the debris after the mass failure of a few remaining regional carriers, once known as "babyflots," which were created when the Soviet-era Aeroflot's monopoly was ended in the 1990s. The head of Russian Technologies, Sergei Chemezov, has promised further orders to the United Aircraft Corporation. The companies are under political pressure to buy new aircraft from the domestic industry, which is struggling to make good on a revival plan after a decade and a half of decay. A new Russian model designed to spearhead that effort, the Superjet, has been repeatedly delayed. "In addition, Russian Technologies will purchase domestically produced planes including the MS-21, AN-148 and Sukhoi Superjet from the United Aircraft Corporation," it said. QUOTE Nice firm order for 50 planes and options for an additional 15. -
LMAO in other words I told you I wasn't going to dig around and find the GM's email because I'm not looking to book but I did beat latestays with their how did you phrase it? Multi-million contracts. Yes I did save 641 Baht off of latestays best rate.
-
Be glad to and no need to for the GM's email. Go to www.marriott.com and book it for 4K per night a 641 Baht savings from latestays.com lowest rate. Easy 641 Baht per night savings. If I was interested in booking the Royal Garden Marriott or other 4 or 5 star properties in Pattaya. I'd take the time and effort to find the GM's email but since I'm not. I'll leave that up to other's on this forum.
-
So what? It's commonly referred to as the Marriott Royal Garden. I still was quoted a reduced price off of latestays.com lowest price.
-
Marriott Royal Garden, Pattaya. One night stay for 4K.
