First time i went in May 2004 paid £330 all in,with Thai from Heathrow. The most ive paid was £600 Nov 2008 (Because of oil price spike) Also airport was closed so had to divert to Singapore/Phuket and train to Pattaya costing another £200 so making £800 in total and 3 days traveling.

Don't 'Airline Network' charge you £2 airline failure insurance, not sure about others. Gives you peace of mind in regards Emirates, although no chance of them going under.

Ok so its not worked out on destination then, just when the flight you board terminates. So all direct flights from the UK are going to rocket, ones that go via the middle east not as bad and any via europe will be less affected.

But isn't the tax charged on the whole flight you book, say london-bangkok even if its 2 legs. So going via Amsterdam won't help unless you make 2 seperate bookings? Not an expert.

Does'nt the tax hike kick in, in November, even then its only £10 this time i think. I think the main reason for the hikes is oil has doubled from $35 to $70 since these deals were started.

Crazy for sure. When they lowered their prices to the £400 pound mark from the UK i thought it was sure way to fill planes. Maybe they have sold all the cheaper seats they want or oil has gone up. Who knows. The same flights now are £560 with emirates a sure way to empty planes. I paid £600 last year when oil was double what it is today!!!

To the OP, whats the charges for water and electric on the monthly charges. Looked on the website and there is no mention.

I was aware of that. Just concerned about Emirates stance on it and if it was maybe changing in some way.

Did you have a visa? Just wondering what they would do if you did'nt, they don't mention anything at the booking and paying stage. I'm going for 3 months, most likey with a 60 day tourist visa, which can be extended by various options, but maybe would seem insufficient to the check in clerks. Have flown twice with them for 3 month trips and never been asked before.

Ive used Gulf before, cant say the seat pitch was a problem for me, no more than any other airline anyway and im 6ft tall. The inflight entertainment was crap, no screens in the seats. But this was 4 years ago now maybe they have upgraded by now. Id use them again for sure.

Yep hope it gets better too 3 weeks time and im there for 3 months. Glad they left interest rates unchanged today cant see them changing untill feb now if at all and with the weak dollar helping it could get better

When i ate their and looked at the sign saying 'curry the same as you get in Bradford' i did wonder if somehow the curries you get in brum are different to everywhere else in the UK. My conclusion you will get slight variations but considering the balti was invented in brum and with a massive india population(more than the whole population of reading), also with the many curries ive had in Pattaya e.g the arab quarter i decided Neeroys curries where fucking shit. You just missed it m8 was there dec until end of jan, stayed in the bella villa pool side and there is grinders banging the lot all day until about 8 pm. Not sure how far they have progressed but they was still adding floors and pouring concrete then so doubt its finished. The construction is opposite of mikes beach villa and at the back of best beach
