South Pattaya is a big area...it really depends on the exact location. For example, Soi Diamond on Walking Street is nearly blind to DTAC signals.

3G service varies with mobile provider and location. If she cannot get ADSL (and it is available generally in S. Pattaya), then she can test her 3G data speeds at the location with speedtest.net. It's hard to answer without knowing what the speeds are at that location for that mobile provider. Where is the location? If it's close to Walking St, if I am in that area, I can do a quick speedtest using TRUE mobile.

Could he have meant 7-8 hours? Short trip, if you ask me. Try getting to Ubon or Chiang Rai in such a short time. I like the busses cause i can sleep. When you add in all the check-in time at airports along with travel to Don Muang, you don't save that much on a short air flight like that.
