Before moving to Rabbit Resort, I peeked into Viewtalay Condos. The leasing department is in one of the offices in the lobby. But you can also visit any real estate company near you to answer your questions (better you deal with a fallang company in my opinion) and some will drive you over there. I am not sure why people are packing this place in. The condo is quite far from the beach and of course Pattaya is always a slow bahtbus ride away. There's a lot of construction going on around the condos so if you're noise sensitive, it may not be right for you. From the top floor condo I visite

Before moving to Jomtien, I visited the Yensabai Condo. It seems very secure and well maintained. Rudy, the German rental agent is a classy & energetic guy (he's also the German Consul) and that helps things along. It's a little hard to find near soi day/night but that makes the location quieter. The in-room safe and weekly cleaning service is a plus. I think the closest Bahtbus would be south pattaya rd. I already forget where it is exactly but I think it's worth a look. They wanted 12,000B/month + water/electricity.

Sawasdee See View - Wing B - Soi 10
kit replied to Idefix's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
There are a few Sawasdee hotel chains in Pattaya. One is located between 2nd Rd. and Beach which would be the ideal. Another is on Soi Buakow if that's your thing. I can't understand why people would stay at hotels not parallel to the Beach/2nd Rd. location. It's just so perfect with bahtbuses going in either direction. I live in Jomtien and even with a motorbike, I find it too far from the action. -
I cannot emphasize it enough, do not stay at RG! You are right on a very very busy road with zero good vibes in the area. Basically, you'll leave the reception area and want to get the hell away from there. To me, that's not somewhere to call home. There are quiet hotels on or just off Walking Street and in my opinion, that's where a newbie should be. Not next to a busy highway....

I found them on their website. They were very helpful and sent a driver to pick me up at the airport. The rooms looked great on the site. On arrival, I found they were so far up south pattaya road facing a giant noisy square. nonetheless, i was there so i wanted to see my room. they have no elevator so i lugged my bag to the top floor which is what i requested. the room was huge but the outside noise was unbearable and it would take at least 30 minutes to walk to walking street. i lugged my bag down and declined their offer. i'm not really positive who this hotel is suited for. it's far an

Hotels with in roomhigh speed Inet access??
kit replied to soirunner's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I looked at the various options for guys who don't want to use the internet cafes all the time: 1-Find pubs that have wireless where you can bring a laptop (ie: Misty's or Le Katai) and surf endlessly. 2-Find guesthouses that have wireless (ie: Green Roof Inn, Royal Cliff, or Le Katai or Marriott). 3-Buy a membership to Starbuck's wireless service and surf in Starbucks on Beach Rd. 4-Buy an aircard at IT City (Tuk.com on South Pattaya Rd.) for 11,000. Then you pay an additional 1200/month for the equivalent of dial up modem speed. Ugh! -
Hotels with in roomhigh speed Inet access??
kit replied to soirunner's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
There is a place called Roof Garden Inn on Thappraya Rd. (near Sugar Hutt) leading to Jomtien that advertises Broadband Internet on their green sign. The Scottish owner, a real gentleman, said rooms go for 18,000 monthly. If you ask me, the location is crap. Each time you leave the hotel (no elevator either), you're right in the thick of traffic. I'd rather be in a fantastic location like any Beach or Walking Street and just go to the local internet cafe. Soi Buakow is only 30B/hour! -

Le katai is not where you want to be. It's on a very busy road connecting Soi Buakow and 3rd so there's one motorcycle whizzing by after the other. When I went to test their wireless internet, my computer couldn't pick up the signal. And when I finally visited the room (stairs only), I found them tiny and stifling. If you really want to stay there, bring your laptop to their bar downstairs and try seeing if you have connection or not. Maybe this place is your dreamboat, who knows? -
I'm living at the Rabbit Resort in Jomtien and I love it. The price is right and it's on quiet Dongtan Beach. The sunsets are spectacular. Check their website.

I still think the Internet cafe in the soi buakow market is the best. It's open 24 hours, they give you water, it's very quiet, and it's always 30B/hour!

I can assure you DVDs work for sure. I recently bought Shrek and there's no problem playing it on my laptop. I also joined Tsutaya movie store here in Pattaya and their DVD/VCD movies play with no problem. However, you must open the folder through my computer that holds the film content. Did I make that clear?

I've just experienced the nightmare of the century getting internet access in LOS. Basically if you don't have a land phone line and a work permit, it's pretty hard but not impossible. First I went to IT city in the Tuk.com building on South Pattaya Road to inquire about the Air Card. It plugs into my laptop and wherever I go, the connection comes with me, no phone required. However, getting the card and having service are too different stories. In the western world, one could order a card, pay the fee either at the shop or online or over the phone with a credit card and away you go. But

I would have to agree. Jomtien is the place. It's clean and friendly. On motorbike, it's just a hop 3kms to pattaya. No big deal....

I found a place and it's terrific living there. I can hear the woosh of the waves from bed...

I pass that hotel daily and I have no idea why anyone without a car or motorbike would stay there. When you consider how many beautiful hotels with a pool and a quiet room appear on Beach Rd or even Walking St., it makes me wonder... I once stayed at AA hotel on Beach and found it comfortable, quiet, affordable, and amazingly located in the center of beach rd. You could walk to Royal Garden or get the bus to Big C.

My advice would be to get the phone # or email or anything from one of those taxi stands like the one I see on the corner of 2nd road and soi 6. they offer 800 baht which seems like a good deal.

I just rented a furnished carpeted condo in Jomtien with plans to buy. The rent is 18,000/month with the most incredible view. Aircon/Water/Cable extra. Frankly, it's higher than my budget but the view is amazing and security is tight. I visited the popular Viewtalay condos and made inquiries. There were condos fully furnished with tile floors for 15,000/month. The rooms are new and slick. I found them slightly away from the action so I passed but I think it's a good value option.

I would like a quiet place [with internet if possible] for about 8000-10,000 Baht/month in Pattaya, Jomtien, or North Pattaya/Naklua. Can anyone reommend? I have found beauties for 15,000-20,000 Baht but I wanted less if possible. This may be only for a few months so 1 year leases aren't of interest. Thank you.
