Just a couple hundred metres up the road on Soi 9 ( by the 7-11) on Thappraya Road trhere is a place - mThe Whispering Palms. Very nice about 15,000 on a monthly basis and similar location. Also 1 block form the Jade House afternoon delights.

Just in contact with a new suite hotel - Merisses Suites of Soi 16 in BKK - runs off Asoke on the Soi 18 side, next to Foodland. Got a quote for 1700 baht net for a deluxe suite(30 Sq meter) and 1900 baht for Premier Suite(35 sq meter) Includes breakfast. site: www.merisess.com Just opened recently, got fairly quick response(less than 1 day) Probably about 10 minutes or less walk to Cowboy, with Skytrain and new skywalk closer.

Stayed there last October and it is nice except eh beds are extremely hard, so for me I won't be back since that is not for me. Everything else about the hotel was nice though. Stayed next door at the Golden roof and enjoyed that- no pool though. No major noises in the area as ofmid January but that could have changed.

BJ Holiday lodge - Soi 3
buddy_guy replied to play1batch's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I just checked out after 1 day at the BJ Holiday. Too much noise and too much dirt around because of the construction. Also didn't like the room anyways. Even at 1200 baht I would rather pay a little more and get a much better room and not have to deal withe the Thai style shower system. -
US Dollar bills get a better rate with 100 notes, less for 20's and even less for 1' to 10's. Travellers checks have a fee of 33 baht per check to cash which lowers the rate you get that is higher than bills and I don't believe it matters what denomination. I would always take the largest denomination that you can get so you pay the 33 baht (plus another small fee I think) on a larger amount therby taking advantage of the spread between bills and traverllers checks. It works to just a wash. The Canadian dollar bills seems to get the same rate no matter what denomination you cash as far as I ca

If you're just asking for a Visitors Visa(60 day) for longer than the 30 day Visa on arrival you don't have to worry because the form info you submit does not mention any background check. I just applied and received it last week from the Thai consulate in Canada. If you are applying for a retirement Visa or something along those lines then you have to worry.

There is a pinkish building right across from the The Haven on Soi 13 in Pattaya. It appears to be either a hotel or serviced apartment. Does anybody know the name or have any info on it?

advice about flying from Phket
buddy_guy replied to friendlyric6411's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Looking at gthe Phuket airport website and checking all Deparyres the only places they depart to are: BKK, Samui/Pattaya, Singapore, Kuala Lampur, Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong. So you will probably need to fly through BKK for most places you would go unless you are going to one of these cities. -

Here is what I have from the sales guy Pichan J. good up until July '07. unfortunately he has left. Hopefully they will honour this. You should also realize the 72,00 on the website is ++ means taxes will be added. The Nanpong rate is taxes in (net). I had trouble posting the docuemnt below but basiccally it shows the rack rates until June 30 2007 which is ++ followed by the monthly and then monthly based on a yearly rental. Tjhe rates after July appear to have gone up but hopefully if the rates are net you will have a decent deal. Room Type Tariff Rate Month
