Make sure you get the srvice apartments at the Rembrandt as the hotel is not guest friendly. Personally I prefer the Jasmine City as they are very close to Soi Cowboyon Soi 21 - about 40 meters and the rooms are great. Ask for the Nanpong rate and you get a substantial discount.

The Hua Hin Hilton is a first class hotel If you can afford the rates the hotel will not disappoint you, great rooms, great pool and excellent service.

Two weeks ago when I checked the rooms they quoted me 1800 baht per night. The rooms don't have safes. They were clean, nice but not spectacular. If I recall the TV was on the smallish size. Didn't pay clsoe attention because I like in room safes so I had decided against going there.

Down Soi 6 right next to the Dynasty Grand. The road bends around and hits Soi 4(Nana). Never stayed there just walked by as I went to look at the Dynasty Grand. The Dynasty Grand was real nice with an 1800 baht rate until the end of October.

Just came back from the LK Metropole, stayed 4 days and it was very nice and also I found it very quiet. Had suite looking over pool on 6th floor. Credit card was required for deposit. I booked 4 rooms they charged 2000 baht per room and returned it in cash when I checked out (after paying) No problems with them they are on the up an up. Place is nice. I'm not sure I like the walk down Soi Diana though especially late at night, but other then that it is a very nice place. Close to Lolitas is a plus though.

If your trip days are flexible you should check the EVA "Hot fares" on their website. They ususally go out a month or two. If you've flown them regularly hopefully you've joined their mileage plan. They charge 20,000 points each way for a one class upgrade, so you can buy an economy seat and get into Deluxe or buy Deluxe and go business. Also you could check flights out of Vancouver. July and August are prime times on EVA so it is hard to get a deal in that time frame.

I have had it happen 3 time, all with British Airways to and from Canada(YVR) and London. It never hurts to ask, they can only say no at the worst. Your best chance will come if they are over booked in economy, say afetr a major seat sale.

No real difference between the 2 rooms at the new sabai wing exept you may get a little more sun for a longer period if you sit on your balcony. Not far from the night life. The soi 2 bars are essentially across the street. Baht bus runs down Soi 2 every couple of minutes 10 baht and a few minutes from soi 6, 7, 8 and stay on for a few minutes more to walking street. Heard good reviews about Grottino but never stayesd theree myself or viewed the rooms. I have friends that stay at the Magestic Suites and they love it.. Rooms very clean but small. they are very girl friendly. I've stayed at the Grand President on soi 11 many times and enjoyed it though the rooms are getting a little worn. I looked in on the hotel in July just for personal reference to see what it was like. I was not impressed at all. Hallways and rooms looked worn down. Didn't like the smell and everything seemed very dark. Definitely not worth 2000 baht in my opinion. It was about on par with the Manhatten on Soi 15, maybe a little more worn. The Magestic and Grand President are far superior and proabbly a lot cheaper. Just my opinion though.

The last time I golfed in Pattaya around 2001 Laem Chabang had a bus that stopped at a few places - caught it at the Diana and it also stoped at the Dusit. The trip was free one way and they charged you 100 baht or so to return. Does anybody know if this service is still there? If not and you don't have a car and you're just want to golf with a few friends, what's the best way to get transport to Laem Chabang golf couse.?
