Stevoman I went to Soi LK Metro today & had a look at the rooms at Cock & Bull restaurant/apartment Rooms looked OK aircon & ceiling fan in room, small balcony, cable TV, hotwater, fridge I was unable to get a rate as the woman there was unsure I am after a place to stay on my next holiday which is mid Feb I will go back tonight & see the "boss" his name is Bill & I will get some rates then The reason I picked out this place was it is at the end on a dead end street & "should" be a bit quieter of a night with less street noise. I will let you know what I find out

I purchased a Philips DVD player when I was in Pattaya this year paid 3000 Baht for it at Lotus , slim design & is multi regional. Checked on the price at a local shop when I came back here to OZ & it was $149 AUD or 4600 Baht It has played all the DVD's I have bought back from Thailand plus the copies I have done here in OZ. For those bringing DVD players fron overseas or planning to take them back may want to check what current they can handle. The model I bought can run 110 volt to 240 volt, unsure if all DVD players are like this or not

I have stayed in Walkabout a couple of times & found it good value, another place I can recomend is California 2 Hotel it is along the riverfront http://www.cafecaliforniaphnompenh.com/ Jim the American owner is good for local info & will give you some good advice on the area Both Walkabout & CA2 are guest friendly Plenty of motobike taxi's in front of the hotel for about $5-7 you can have the driver & motorbike for all day, a trip to the killing fields & Toul Sleng Genocide Museum (S21) is worth a visit.
