Flying from Dublin to Bkk via Amsterdam shortly. Have heard that Schipo has had major reorganization recently and that I will have to exit and re enter security so the 90 mins transit time may not be enough. Anyone transited through schipol recently and can advise?

The England v Italy game has been brought forward 3 hours to 11 pm British time to suit TV in both countries. That a 5 am kick off Thai time. Can you imagine the state of some of the Engerland fans in Pattaya at that time of the morning.

Just been for a stroll up second road, round by Soi Diana, LK Metro and then Soi Buakow. Most bars are completely closed but in some there are a few girls and customers lurking in the shadows. I'm guessing that you could probably get a drink in thse places if you were desperate enough for one. I stocked up the fridge with booze from the 7-11 earlier and my intended for tonight is calling over shortly. Got a few dvd's so should be sorted. Sounds like it will be back to normal tomorrow.

Hi Teelak, yes I know that Chaba Hut have in room safes. I have stayed there and would recommend it. It was Nature View that I was referring to about not having safes. What dates in June are you travelling?. We seem to bump into each other a good bit on trips. I am out for 2 weeks at the end of June.

Nature Review looks good but have no in room safes which is important to me and to many others. Landing back to the room half pisses with a p4p girl that you have known for all of 2 hours can be a risky business. Its good to have somewhere to store away your cash and or cards.

Sometimes it can be worthwhile to look at flights from England. Use travelsupermarket.com and it will allow you to do one search for flights from all London airports, Manchester and Birmingham to BKK. Prices quoted will be sterling and then you have to arrange your own flight with Ryanair, Aer Lingus or BMI to and from the English airport. I've done this on my last couple of trips and its worked out usually a couple of hundred euro cheaper than booking with Club Travel or E Bookers from Dublin.

Arriving on China Airlines at approx 7 am. If I dont get someone to share a cab will probably get Bells bus at 8 am as not in big rush. Will most likely be in Patts too early to check in to Hotel.

Used Utapo several times and they always had taxis waiting on arrival. Only problem is that they seem to have a monopoly and charged 1000 baht each time.

I am hoping and guessing that some of my fellow countrymen have made the trip to BKK via AMsterdam using China Airlines as they appear to offer the best deals at the minute. What I am wondering is do Aer Lingus issue both boarding passes when you check in at Dublin or do you have to check in/go to transfer desk in Amsterdam. If so does this take up much time. Last time I went was via Dubai, first leg with Aer Lingus, second leg with Emirates. On way out I got both boarding passes in Dublin which was extremely convienent but on way back only got boarding for BKK to Dubai. Nearly missed

Saw their website and it looks ok with a nice pool for only 850 baht a night. Their website says its only a couple of minutes walk to Walking Street. Is this right or is it more like 20 mins? Any info appreciated.
