  1. I stayed at the Pig & Whistle awhile back and the inroom safe was nothing more than a wooden lockbox located within the headboard. Things may have changed since my last visit BobSJ
  2. Try "The Cottage" - S01-2 ? This is across the roadway from "Big-C" This is a side road and not 2nd/Rd. The Cottage faces the parking lot. I last heard that The Cottage was charging 660b a day. They have 2-pools in a nice tropical type setting. The rooms are not much to speak of, but they are clean and with either AC or Fan. The Cottage does not have a web site. 3. Here is the info for Narita. The Day Room is located close to gate 26-27 - walk to the far wall opposite the gate and walk down along the corridor and you will see a class inclosure with an automatic door entry. - The main area is set up with a seating / waiting area with a small area for your computer and a flight terminal on the main desk to check on your flight status. Great way to spend your time, taking a shower and resting before the final leg of your flight to Thailand. BobSJ BobSJ
  4. Hi, When it comes to 500b Hotels, my last stay I saw the Carlton advertising with a big banner above the entrance just that very price. I've stayed at the Carlton in the past and it was at best average. If I were to stay there again I would ask for a room 1st/floor facing the pool. The next hotel is the Thai Palace on 2ndRd @ Soi4 - I believe that their price is 650b Then, there is The Cottage which is off 2nd/Rd facing the parking lot to Big-C, their price is 650b If you are not picky about where you stay - try Chaplin's Bar on Soi-3 There basic room is in the 500b range
  5. Hi Guys, Thanks for the additional info - Maybe now I will be able to find a better deal for the future. Thanks again for the info. BobSJ
  6. Pulled up flight Info for Sept. - SFO to Bkk. The prices are starting to go up slightly. The only exception was PAL. The fare is reasonable for the time of month. http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll?qscr=...=1059285333840&
  7. Yinzer, Thanks for the info on the web sites - I'll will be checking them out. BobSJ
  8. In response to NWA - I will be back this Sept for another 14 days of fun in the sun. NWA emailed me advising that there was a slight change to my flight, instead of the usual 747-400 they changed to a DC10. Talk about an outdated jet. I asked the agent why the change and she stated that the flight from SFO was only 1/3 filled. The flight from Narita to BKK is near capacity and the reason for that is that all other flights arriving from other point of orgin, LAX, Seattle, ect are packed onto the Narita to BKK leg. Also when it came to using my FFM, I could never get into Business
  9. Hi All, My last trip was May-2003 and I stayed at the Sabi-Lodge on Soi2 for 5 days. Sabai Lodge has always been a favorite place for me to stay at and the staff has always been excellent with their services. The only down fall I had this trip was that the water pressure was not constant and there was a problem with ants. But I had plan on staying only a short time here and had already made plans to stay at the Flipper House for trhe remainer of my trip. My stay at the Flipper House was good and the noise problem was not a concern. I stayed in Rm-420. The only down side to the
