  1. I've payed deposit in many places, it's the norm if you want to stay for a month or longer, and I always got it back when I checked out minus the water and electric bill or anything broken or drinks taken from the minibar! Plahgat
  2. During all my years I never managed to get a servicegirl!? I got the feeling that they are more pickier and only go with young hansum guys and not ol' farts like me!Lol Talking about service girls, last time I was in NLD1 in June there was a very pretty young girl with a Hostess sign on her chest, actually she's the prettiest servicegirl I've ever seen in Pattaya!!! Never had a chance to talk to her and don't know her name, but she is quite tall with a very cute face, about 20 years of age, and used to work at the now extinct Amazon aGoGo, where she was an alround service girl and did a great job managing everything from serving to cashiering, dragging in punters from the outside to pepping up the GoGo dancers when they were too slow, she was all over the place! If she's still at your place I'd love to see her picture! plahgat
  3. Personally I'd be well tucked up in bed already with a barfine by my side at that hour, so I wouldn't care less! Better to lower barfine to 400 baht at all hours, that would keep the punters pouring in! Plahgat
  4. The insects that they sell as food are killed by frying them in oil alive and fried again at the stall before they sell them to customers! Insects catched in the wild might have some insecticides in them depending on where they have been grazing, so therefore one should be careful about eating them! On the other hand most stalls offering insects as snacks has bought their critters from farms and they have been brought up without coming into contact with insecticides, and therefore there shouldn't be any risk of getting poisoned from eating them! I eat fried grasshoppers frequently that I buy from the lady that sells them near Marina Plaza behind Walking Street in South Pattaya, she buys them from breeders, I never had any problems eating them! Tastes like salty and spicy crisps (potato chips)! Saep Eeree Jing Jing! Just make sure that you break off the far end of the grasshoppers legs before you eat them, because they have small spikes that "hooks on" to your gums and can be difficult to get out! Plahgat

  7. Don't think that's the same song! I think this is the one he means! Unfortunately I don't know the name as well! Here is a clip from my upcoming video! plahgat Mabooka dance.
  8. My favorite beach near Pattaya is Hat Dongtan at the end of Jomthien after Pattaya Park. Usually less crowded and with more space between the beach chairs. Water quality is at it's best during Winter (high season) when the cooler winds blows from the north and from land. During rainy season the moist and hot monsun winds coming from the south creates waves that stirs up the dust and sand in the water and sometimes lots of debri floats ashore, although there are less crowds during low season. You can use the toilets and showers at Pattaya Park free of charge, and for the kids the large pools, waterslides and other rides are quite fun! plahgat
  9. Hi, Dibidabi! I have used this service a few times in the past from Pattaya to Don Meuang I bought the ticket direct at North Pattaya Terminal, as you said they change you to a minibus once in BKK if there are people going to hotels in town, but have never seen any realiable info on them going back from Airport to Pattaya!? About the departure times from BKK to Pattaya, where in BKK do they start from? Do they have a terminal in BKK as well, maybe at some of the main bus-stations? Or is there a special bus-stop for them at the airport? I've heard so many different rumours about these buses going from the Airport, but never had them confermed! Maybe they will only pick you up at the airport if you call them first? I would appreciate if anyone has the real answer to this enigma! plahgat
  10. Hi, guys! I think that Siam Sawasdee is on Soi Bua Khao, and it's Sawasdee Mansion that's in Soi Honey Inn. Anyway they are both crap places to stay and very worn down, they used to be the cheapest aircon places to stay a few years ago, but has now been surpassed by a multitude of both cheaper and better places to stay in this area. Have a look in Soi LK Metro several new and spotlessly clean aircon guesthouses with much better amenities including balconies and Free Wireless Internet in the rooms, for about 8000-9000 baht/month! Sawasdee hotels can only be recommended as reserve places for 1 or two nights sleep while you are looking for a better place, one exception being the Sawasdee Seaview Wing B down Soi 10 near the sea, but it costs much more than the other places. plahgat

  12. Hi, guys! I stayed there as well 2 months from mid January to mid March this year. I had my laptop with me and they provided me with the cable, think the speed was 100 Mb/s, pretty fast and reliant. Use of the Internet was free, you just pay extra for the water and electric. Think I paid a total extra for the 2 months about 3900 baht, minimum for water I think was 250/month. I did use a lot of water , because I did my own laundry! Price for the room per month was 8500 bath, but that was a promotional rate, might be higher now(9000 baht)!? Size of the rooms were normal average size, furniture sturdy and well appointed, included a small computer table, lots of drawers where you can put your stuff, no inroom safe though, only at reception. Big bathroom with shower and hot & cold water. Big balcony but no chairs. Good security 24 hours, small minimarket, hairsaloon, massage parlour and restaurant all in the reception area. Small pool good for a cooling dip. Friendly management. If you rent by month, rooms where cleaned daily that is floor sweeped and garbage emptied and bed made, bed sheets and towels were changed once a week, but if you insisted you could have them changed more often, for a little tip. Only negative I have to say about this place is: There were only 3 cleaning-maidens in the whole place (70+ rooms), so it sometimes took a long time before my room was cleaned, some days I had to wait until 17-18 pm before it was made! Lighting in the room was not enough, 2 built in spotlights in the hall, but no lights in the ceiling in the main sleeping room over the bed, just a lamp on the bedtable, so it was a bit dark to read at night! I would certainly recommend this place though, and will stay there again! It's situated down Soi 9 (South Pattaya rd), also called Soi Weera, in a small and very quiet soi. Near to the Friendship Supermarket and the markets. There are baht-buses passing by on South Pattaya rd in the daytime , but at night you have to take a taxi or walk. It's not that far to walk at all, I clocked the time to 15 minutes from hotel to Walking Street, although you will pass through the fresh market that can be quite crowdy, but a good place to pick up some local food when you walk back in the night with your "girlfriend". I have some pictures look at my next posting! Cheers! plahgat
  13. I just love those fried grasshoppers! Always buy a bag for 20 baht from the lady at Marine Plaza opposite Coyotees. Tastes like crispy potato chips salty and oily, saep iree jing jing! plahgat ps be sure to break of the thin ends of the bones, they are full of spines! They easily get stuck like fish-hooks in your gums or throuth!
  14. Yes it has got a good sized swimmingpool! On the floor over the reception. There are more photos on there website, look in the link that hanylek provided in an earlier posting! plahgat
  15. The price of 1290 not only includes breakfast, but also free Internet access in your room(bring your own laptop). Normal price for room is 1100 baht, but without breakfast and Internet.
  16. I stayed there during my first visit to Thailand back in -87. Then it was just basic coconut-huts, for 400 baht a night, expensive back then! I'm quite sure the Tsunami has destroyed all the hotels in the low-lying double-beach strip! Not sure if they are rebuilding them or not, because I've not been there after the Tsunami. plahgat
  17. Hi cnkbud! I have stayed at this place some years ago, and although cheap I wouldn't recommend it even for my worst enemy! Very old murky place with stained old wall to wall carpets, every room has 2 small beds that cannot be put together, oldfashioned bathroom with mouldy old tub, tiny old tv with only a few thai channels, small minibar, no balconies, noise from nearby discoteques, located in a gay area, was constantly huzzled by fags everytime I walked in or out of this Soi, very long wait at reception everytime you wanted your room key, loads of cheap asian tour packages tourists stay here! Not recommended, rather sleep on the beach than in this dump! I noticed that they put some new bright orange paint on the outside of this place, but I doubt that they have improved anything in the rooms. They have another place Day-Night Apartments 2 a few sois up the road, and believe me it was even dirtier than the first place! In my opinion Day-Night and Little Duck Hotel in central Pattaya competes about being the worst hotel in Pattaya! plahgat
  18. Hi guys! I stayed one month in Thai Archer last year from mid-May to mid-June, and thought it was the best place I've ever stayed in Pattaya! Stayed in one of the top floor corner rooms, big room and lots of drawers and places to put your things, especially liked the lighting, lots of little "Spotlights" that you could change with the dimmer to make a more romantic feeling, big fridge another plus, and ofcourse the free wireless Internet, had two big balconies, one for my laundry and the other one for those "romantic" late night soaré's! Never had any problem with the management, only the horny room-cleaner who always flirted with me! Had problem with some street noise a few nights when somebody celebrated the new opening of their place or someones birthday! I payed for one month in the low season 10000 baht + 1800 baht for the electric. When I came back last month, there were different personel from last time so they didn't recognise me, and now they wanted 15000 baht not included the electric. So, I went somewhere else, will be back in May though and if the price is down I might stay there again. plahgat

  20. Don't worry! A single bed means one big bed for two people, sometimes so big you can squeeze in an extra girl or to if you are up to it! Double bed means two beds usually smaller, can be cramped for two people in one bed! plahgat
  21. Always best to check the meter when you check in and again when you check out! I myself stayed in a smaller place some years ago, simple but adequate aircon room for 6000 baht for three weeks, but when the bill came for the electricity it was a staggering 3000 baht! Together that is 9000 baht the same amount that I usually pay for more upscale places per month everything included! They just said the electric price was high that year, and since I didn't check the meter I just had to swallow it!
  22. Hi fzbkk! Depends ofcourse how long you use it, but somewhere between 1500-2000 baht a month. plahgat
  23. The generic ones (Kamagra, Penegra and so on), can be bought for 500 baht for a 4-pack, if you buy more even cheaper! Works as good as the "real" ones!
  24. Hi jakedsnake! The Airport is actually about 8 km North-East from the Northern Busstation (Morchit), and about 18 km North from the Eastern Busstation (Ekamai). Takes about 30-45 minutes to Morchit, but about 1,5-2 hours to Ekamai because you have to go through some heavy traffic streets (Sukhumvit rd). From the busstations to Pattaya it takes about the same time 2-3 hours and costs about 100 baht. Although Morchit mostly do North to North-East routes they also do Pattaya, maybe because so many of our beloved bargirls comes from North-East and needs a fast connection to Pattaya!? Cheers! plahgat
  25. Hi guys! As has been stated already bahtbuses are 20 baht from North Pattaya Busstation to beach road, and they leave when full. If you want them to take you to a certain hotel they might ask you for more! When it comes to normal bahtbuses that plies their fixed routes around Pattaya the rate is now 10 baht, even the Jomthien bus from the school in South Pattaya is 10 baht all the way to the beach in Jomthien! If you want to go direct from your hotel to the busstation you must hire the bahtbus for about 60 baht(although they will usually ask for more, up to you!). There is a big aircon bus from Pattaya to Don Meuang, every time I took it they went to some depot in BKK first where you have to change for a mini bus (included in the price) that then takes you to the airport. Faster to go to the airport by one of several minibus companies. I have never seen any sign of a bus going the other direction though, although I have read on some other forums people say that there is one, supposed to be handled by THAI? Have heard of guys who has managed to get a minibus from airport to Pattaya, but they have probably rented it!?
