That will be starting price for a low level basic studio at the back of the project, probably without sea view. For something half decent you will be paying a lot more. But, if you just need a room to crash after a hard night partying, then they are ideal! I use Skype and apart from dropping out occasionally the quality is great. You have to have a good reliable connection though if it is for business. Reliable? In Thailand? Ummm maybe not! LF

On the face of it you would be correct Anto. Condos are outselling houses by a huge amount. However, there are still plenty of Thai nationals out there looking to buy and sell as well as farangs who have Thai wives. There are a few housing developments that are selling each unit with an already established company as well. Now, if we can just get the government to allow us all to buy a small piece of land........ Sorry, went into dream mode there!

Chris, I would just add that, if you haven't already done so, get those topless girls covered up. I seem to remember a place in Jomtien last year that got closed down because the girls were playing pool topless. Hope you don't have any serious problems. LF

Thanks guys, Have been to see Dr Belen. Took my blood pressure, asked if I had any illness, signed the cerificate and I paid 150 baht. In and out in less than 5 minutes. Nice to see some Thai efficiency!!!

Finally went to see Chris at Drunk and Dare a licks last night to sample his bar b q. Nice enclosed bar with air con. Good selection of ladies available and service was prompt. After getting a Heineken (70 baht) I sat and ordered a steak with corn on the cob and jacket potato. It arrived with no hassle and was cooked to order. Good size and good quality, straight off the bbq so had the nice smokey taste. Full size corn (No half measures here!) and perfectly cooked potato (although it was a little cold). The cost for this filling meal? 140 baht! Absolute bargain. You can also order the pork steak for 120 baht. Other sides included beans and potato salad. The bar is about 1 mile down beach road, jomtien in Soi 9 on the left hand side and they do this bbq on Monday, Weds and Friday. Apparantly, Chris will be opening his upstairs lounge soon which will have some more tasty morsels on display (If you catch my drift....). Overall, a nice place with a good host, lots of girls and good quality food that will fill you up. And all at a really good price. Highly recommended! LF
