  1. Thanks for the additional info. Makes a cheep deal I do not think that I would do it though, unless I wanted a few days in BKK, too much fucking about For those that wish to go to Manila, flights are available for about £80 return from BKK
  2. Thanks for the heads up I wonder how much connecting flights to Manila or Bangkok would be? After seeing some of the AC pictures, I could be tempted to take a trip there
  3. Edit: I am now apparently an advanced poster
  4. Who provides this service please? How old are the cars, are they reliable etc?
  5. Hi mate, I work at Heathrow. Security is very tight now, and all hand luggage is being x-rayed and searched with extra vigilance. Which is having the knock on effect of taking a lot longer to get air-side. The best thing is to go through with the absolute minimum. passport, tickets, wallet, and any medication which you may need on your flight. Every thing else, pack in your suitcase. If everyone does this the ques will go through much quicker, and will save you the embarrassment of your 12" dildo being waved in the air in front of everyone Sorry I do not know the bag siz
  6. Are there screens displaying arrival times? I cannot remember. As some times flights do land early or late. If a driver is kept waiting a long time for a delayed flight, they will certainly need to get themselves a drink/snack, but if there are screens advising arrival times there is no excuse for them not to be waiting. Like was mentioned before, the last thing you need after a long flight, is a no show driver I had a fairly positive pick up experience, with Toom, although I had to get someone to call him . I could not fault the return journey though
  7. Hi Joe, Did you go to the small booth, on the left as one exits the terminal, where they quote a price and give you a ticket?
  8. I have also used Mr Tooms taxi service, with no problem Mr TOOM, if you are reading this, the new airport will hopefully be before the end of the year, and it is closer to Pattaya. Will you also do the taxi, and what will be the price?
  9. Great quality pictures I have also been to that market a couple of times, it is massive. The last time I took my squeeze from the previous two nights. She did not ask me to buy here a thing but I did earn considerable points by buying an outfit for her baby, and it was only 99 Baht Definately paid dividends for that night also
  10. Hi markytee, I am arriving on the 9th, but 5 hours before you. After a long flight the last thing I will be doing is hanging around, but will be up for a beer the next day if you like. p.s. I am staying at the Areca, as I believe you are.
  11. A few pictures from yesterdays Heathrow visit.
  12. Thanks for the reply Nationwide for me. I wonder if they will do something similar ?
  13. No charges!! that's good. Which bank do you use ??
  14. Sounds like a bloody good idea saves any confusion, 2 people same surname etc.
  15. Hey welcome to the forum :) and thanks for the information.
  16. You will not be sorry. The areca is a great place. I will back there in June
  17. It says 550B a night on the web site I am rapidly losing interest
  18. Cheers forest51, will be in Patts soon, maybe they will let me have a look around. Already thinking ahead to another trip later in the year
  19. I was looking at this place myself for possible future booking. On the web site the prices are: Rates Apartment Type Daily Rate High Season (01.11 - 28.02) Standard Room 550 750 Midsize Room 600 800 Large Room 650 850 Superior Room 700 900 Seems like a bargain Does anyone know the difference in the rooms? Do they just get progressively bigger, do any have carpet? Thanks.
  20. For those that have flown direct from Heathrow, which would be your preferance, Thai Airways or Eva Air, given equality on ticket price? I flew with Thai last year, and it was a good flight, but it did not have a seat back tv. Is that the case with all Thai Airways flights from LHR ? and do Eva Air have seat back tv ? It is not the be all and end all, but it does make the flight a little more comfortable.
  21. I have booked with with Etihad for my forthcoming trip in March. Price : £380 return. At the time of booking a direct flight was running at £550. The £170 pound saving pays for a good deal of my Hotel expenses, approx £15 a night. In my opinion definately worth the extra couple of hours travel time. On Expedia : Eva air = 11 hours 20 mins; Etihad = 14 hours 30 mins ; Outbound times, longer for return.
  22. Girl Friendly in respect that they do not charge extra for admitting the girl, and safe for you, as you have the knowledge that, if they do a runner with any of your possessions, they have her ID card and place of work recorded at reception. Maybe that is not 100% safe, but what is ? certainly better than some places. The current price is 1100 Baht a night, and they did not charge extra for my guest at breakfast, not sure if that is always the case, or if I was lucky.
  23. My friend and I stayed there last November, definately recomended, and very girl friendly Make sure your girl has a Thai ID card though, as one girl I took back was from Laos or some where, and they said that as she did not have a Thai ID she could not come in and that it was a policy put in to protect the guests. All the girls have to sign in and out, stating where they work, and leaving thier ID card. In my opinion, a good idea.
