New early Shop/store closing times?

Can anyone update me on the early closing times for stores etc that i understand have or will be forced on the likes of Big C etc by the government in Thailand?

It seems to be something to do with cutting down on fuel usage from what i can make out?

what times are stores now being forced to close and is this going to spread to other things.....ie bars etc????

Major Shopping Centers (such as Futurepark Rangsit) have been "advised" to close earlier - the new closing times for Shopping Centers are no later then 9:30 PM during the week and no later then 10 pm on the weekends. Central has moved along. At Futurepark Rangist that means that the BigC there is closed at the same times, but I don't know about closing times at other BigC Malls or other Shopping Centers. Seems like more and more Malls in Bangkok are following this advise, I think it was not ordered by the government (becuase that would not be possible I guess due to some existing laws regulation the opening hours) but it has been strongly recommended.

as for the bars, the zoning law in bangkok seems to be enforced now, there is another thread about that on this board.

Spoke to my GF today who works in the Royal Garden Plaza, she said they are now closing at 9 Monday-Thursday. And 10 the rest of the week.
