Only one down side and that would be a deal breaker for me. NO INROOM SAFE.

Gotta keep running back and forth to the desk with all you toys. Camers, LapTop, PDA, MP Player not to mention stuff like passport, cash, credit cards, and things like jewelry and Rolex that go into the safe whilst enjoying your company. (Sorry for the mildness but this is a PG section) :banghead

You could try this. Not foolproof, but would make casual theft impossible. I use one.

Best way is down Pattaya North Rd past Tescos onto the Dolphin roundabout and along Beach Rd and double back up Soi Post Office to Second Rd and then down Soi 13.

If you look for the Pizza Hut on Beach Rd that is Soi Post Office and gives you a landmark if the taxi driver isn't sure.

Great advice Roland and also makes a lot of sense as i can see your route requires less driving. thanks a million

ps...you got the greatest avatar iv'e seen on here ...sheer class

I have a couple of questions of all you Sandy Spring clients. How do you buy a membership and get the special rate? I can't find anything on the hotel web site about the membership.

If you make your reservation through this site

Scandibar

You get the members rate, no need to become a member then.

Ask them to change it, I guess it will be no problem. Of course you can cancel your reservation an re-confirm through the Scandibar-site

Bon chance

Guido

Just a short thought about the safety of in room safes - might be smart to leave the real important stuff at a front desk safety box (but even there you can never be sure)

And if one is so concerned about his jewellery and his Rolex - might be best to leave it at home at all :chogdee

while i was in pataya last christmas a hotel on soi boukou next to old sewage place forget name has a good restaurant called mamas kitchen, anyway i was eating there one day and seen 4 or 5 boys in brown walking in the hotel. in pattaya mail it said all the lockers were robbed behind reception apparantly a farang bought the recpetionest a drink which she claims was drugged.dont now what happened after that whether people were caught or not.but like cybers says i think they are saver than in room safes.do the staff know the code or do you enter a new one yourself which could be tricky as people get to mawr to remember number.i have heard of a few places where the in room safes have been broken into or maybe staff robbed who knows.but atleast on the reception safes you buy a padlock which you only have a key for safer in my opinon.good luck

Do Bangkok taxi/limo drivers from the airport generally find pattaya hotels easy?

If you're worried about this, the simple solution is to do what I do and pre-book a cab based in Pattaya to meet you at the airport.

Yes , I done it already and prebooked though Sandy spring.

Will cost me 1,500 including tolls but worth the extra money for a pattaya newbie, at least i can get a cheaper taxi meter next time when i know the way :D

Just over 2 weeks now till wheels up :D

Mate 1500 Baht including tolls is a good price don't bother looking anywhere else.

Bigmike.

I agree and think it's not too much to ask for a comfortable journey.

The only part i didn't like was emailing my cc details to Sandy spring to guarantee pickup, I know many Bm's will have views on doing this , I just hope as it's through the hotel that it will be legite and i will have no fraud problems.

What are your thoughts on doing this ?

butterflyblonde the Sandy Spring is safe to give CC details to, it is not a small setup as they have at least two other hotels in Pattaya which a lot people don't know about (my secret).

Bigmike.
