Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

I have just made a booking with my usual hotel, quoted price up 200 b a night, does this seem to be the trend,or are they hoping the overflow of tourist from the south will come to pattaya ??

Local media here in NZ says many tourist worldwide are canceling and the results for the Thai tourist industry will be crippling.

Just to advise. Had planned to be on Phi Phi for 4 days at the beginning of March. Switched to Samui, but had a difficult time booking a hotel. Could not book the one I like, and had fun finding one with occupency. It seems evryone who was booked in the Phuket-Krabi area is now looking in the Gulf for their beach vacation. Luckily, I have Pattaya booked awhile ago!

I had the same problem with early March.

Just changed my vacation before my "vacation" (Pattaya) from Phuket/Phi Phi to Hua Hin (just to hook that bloody beach of the list as well). Ended up with my third choice on the hotel list.

But these as are all family places. Can't see that Pattaya will get any extra tourists in March with Patong up an running by then.

But it will be busy - early Easter etc. Wonderful or what? Can use the extra days of the Easter and avoid Songkran at the same time. Mmm
