Hi, :livid

Its a lovely hotel in the heart of the action, but it is NOT guest friendly. They will let you take a girl in but you will have to pay. :D

If your considering staying here, (And its an exceptional hotel, with top international standards) you must think about maybe paying 1000 baht + for your girlfriend each nite. If this isn't a problem to you, its a fabulous place to stay, without the now par for the course English lager louts! 2guns :D 2guns

This is one of the few hotels where they will actually stop you as you go through reception, which can phaze the uninitiated. :D

I stay there sometimes and I make an arrangement with security- heres how! B)

When you return with your Thai GF for the night, use the rear entrance of the hotel, which is actually on Beach Road to the left of royal garden Plaza as you face it. There will always be a security guard on duty here, day and night. Before you leave in the evening, give him 100 baht tip. When you return with your TGF give him another 100 baht, smile a lot and just walk straight in. He will let you enter without hinderence, because he has taken your bribe. Walk straight into the garden, and take your first opportunity to go right or left and go in through the ground floor fire escape doors. Take the stairs to the first floor, and then take the elevator to wherever you need to go! you simply bypass the main reception. This will save you a pile of cash, and you will be staying in the best hotel in the immediate area of the action. :P

When you check in make sure you ask for a seaview room, they are lovely. The Suites are very nice too. In the daytime you will see some very nice european poontang by the pool, mostly on holiday with their sorry looking new husbands! :D

Enjoy your stay, and if you want somewhere nice withoout the guest problem, try the Sunshine, The dynasty or one the Sabai hotels on Soi 2. Not quite up to the same international standard, but if you are just there to nail pussy, you will be quite happy. :nod

Thats funny.

I stayed marriot pattaya last year. Had a garden room. Booked over the internet for a special of 3000 baht inlcuding breakfast buffet. They never gave me a problem with girls. althought many times I did not go past the front desk but came in from royal garden plaza. My room was right there. :D

Also agree that the Marriott is guest friendly.

Just walk in like you own the joint and you won't have any problems. If they give you grief tell them you've brought back birds for how many years and you'll have a chat with the general manager in the morning.

As a precaution just book the room for two people, though it really ain't necessary.

With the exception of a few top end joints, 4-5* hotels ain't in the habit of pissing off their guests.

I am going to Pattaya in July this year and I would like to stay at the Marriott hotel, does anyone know where is the cheapest website to book hotels through especially the Marriott. I have been searching and found it for 4250 baht for a double room.

Any advice would be much appreciated. :banghead

i checked all my normal sources and 4250 baht is also the cheapest I could find for the marriot. My adive would be to wait unitl about april to try and book the rooms. The summer months should have the best chances of getting a deal. The hotels websites normally don't start discounting hotel rooms 6 months out.

Have stayed there before but I was just as happy when I went down market a bit. The drinks and meals at pool side are expensive and to be honest most of the women staying there were well out of my league.

This is a good hotel, central but if the option is that I get a lot less money to spend on the true luxuries of life (women and drink), give me the 1000-1500 baht places anyday.

First Posting=Bullshit

No problems with TGs in the Marriott.

Stayed there in October: everynight with a girl absolutely NO problem, NO money. Example: one evening I came with a shorttime girl - the guy in front of the lift took her ID, deposited it in a special box and we went upstairs. Same night I returned 3 hours later with another girl for the rest of the night and he did not even take here ID. :o

Clearly the guest policy has changed here! I think 'bullshit'(Thanks hotforever! B) ) was a bit strong though, perhaps mistaken, or misinformed would have been a politer way to put it.

To be fair I haven't stayed there since 1998 and it was not a Marriot hotel then. Amazingly back in 1998 the junior suite I had was only 1900 baht pernight B&B. Sad isnt' it, keeping bills for that long!

I guess what has happened is that they simply build the cost of your whore into the room price.

Logical I guess. :D

Not bullshit at all. An associate of mine was continuously pestered for this rip-off charge 3 months back, and same was going on earlier on last year.

Both versions are undoubtedly correct and the best that can be said about this place is that the reports are very inconsistent. and if in any doubt leave well alone. I originally thought there was some misguided sense of patriotism going on here, but that would not appear to be so either !

Bottom line though is that "special offer" price. They are really taking the piss there. The rooms are small, and no better than any of the 1000-1500 Baht hotels on offer.

And for those Paranoids out there, I reckon that the Mall and hotel, with it's underground carpark, just has to be the prime target for any terrorist activity in Pattaya, should it surface. <grin :o

4250 baht per night = £60 :beer I wouldn't pay a lot more than that for a decent hotel in London!

Any way-----

£60= 8 X Short time, 4 X longtime or 2 X good saopies.As the yanks would say

YOU DO THE MATH!

I have just spoken to someone staying at the Marriot over Xmas and he paid 650 per girl per night.

If he entered through the beach road entrance and tipped securioty, he never got charged.

I feel vindicated.

Have stayed at Marriot Dec '04, Jan '05 twice and Feb '05

NO problems with girls

I always come in front door

Sometimes take id card, sometimes not ( mostly not )

Always have been treated well

I travel ALOT, and my experiance is that if you have a good attitude

you will be treated well

YMMV

It is the Marriott policy in Thailand to not charge for guests. I've been at the following:\

J.W. Sukhumvit

Marriott Resort and Spa on the River in BKK

Pattaya

Hua Hin

Never a problem, infact at the J.W. in BKK all he male staff gave me a wink when I strolled in with a pair from Morning Night Bar. One was a staffer and the other was a BG who suggested we wait for the staffer as myh Staff would get very good service!

Mr Cowboy, what do you mean? Wind up? Nice Mr Pattyahappy? Surely not? I kinda thought we were all here to help each other have a nice time in LOS? There is nothing wrong impolite or usavoury about my comments, or have I missed something here.
