I don't want to take sides here but I have to say Lemons you were not clear cut with checking with the driver who had the sign up for you at the arrival section.

Yep, guilty as charged. But if you are expecting a driver with your name on a board to be there - and there he is, well I cant see many fatigued travellers initiating a Q&A session with him to rule out a muck up.

 

I am a wiser fellow now and it's unlikely I'll ever pre book transport again.

7) Use the phone if need to cancel ,

 

Dang taxi is just one of the many small taxi stands on Seconed rd ,

I would be surprised if he reads his E mail every day ,

 

and Lemons, I'am pleased, that you took it well and moved on .

 

For what its worth after a 12 Hr flight I would have done the same as you ,

there a lesson for us all .

Who would have thought that booking a cab would be such a trial but TIT.

 

As Ting Tong says never use your real name and tell them the hotel next door to yours so they can't track you. Then when you book a cab if he's there all well and good if not do a deal with someone else. You can march up to departures and pick up a Bangkok Taxi for 1,000 baht plus tolls.

 

I have used Krong Fa before and all was well but last trip two things happened:

 

1. The driver was there with my name on a card, he took my bag, took me up to the entrance to the car park and said wait here I get car (same as usual) he then disappeared for 1 whole hour.

 

2. When he turns up I'm like 'where you been!' but he just pulled the no speak a da English routine PLUS the car stank of what I honestly have to say smelt like stale pussy. What was going on I don't know.

I too contacted Mr. Dang to use His taxi service last April to pick me up from Nanatai Mansion BKK - Pattaya and made sure he KNEW to pick me up there and not at the airport but to no avil! he then E-mailed be to say where was I so I think he turn up at the airport because neither the receptionist or I was awhere of any driver asking for me or no did he call me on my contact number in which I told him to do so I don't know what to think!

Maybe I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and use him again and if he's a no shower, well its not that hard to get another ride!

MR.Dang. Top man, Reliable, competative, good motor, and fast trip

Mr Dang did not reply to my email so had to go with Krong Fa.

 

Driver had to wait four hours as the Eva flight diverted to Dubai to unload a sick passenger but he was there no problem, they charged me an extra 200 baht which I thought was fair.

I took a Mr Dang car from Pattaya to BKK in May and got an incredibly beat up car. Has anyone else experienced this before?

 

On the plus side the driver was safe and punctual and got me to the airport in good time.

Last time there I used Powerbobs contact nnot the newest car but comfortable.

Had make a special trip toairport to pick up a bag I left on the plane inSydney

Spent about a hour at the air port where the driver was a great help.

Cost for the trip there and back .

 

850 baht plus tolls plus a 200 B. tip for his excellent help.

 

Just to toss something new in.

Does anyone know what happened to Mr Dang taxi service?

 

I have used him many times before (up to January this year) and never had a problem.

 

I was planning to use him again at Christmas.

But now when I email him it comes back as "mailbox unavailable".
