Thai language schools.

As per somewhere in October I want to spend (say) some six months per year in Thailand. As I will be there for a considerable part of the year I want to (at least try to) learn to speak Thai.

 

Does anyone have experiences with Thai language schools in Pattaya (both good and bad experiences are welcome). How much time do you estimate will be involved to learn enough to be able to keep a basic conversation going and (important for me as I am Dutch) how much money will be involved. Also addresses will be welcome.

Near soi 6 there is a littel private school,not the street whit the bar's But just arrount the corner on the right side when you comming on beach road

 

it's about 10.000bath for 15x1hour private lesson

I have a friend that will be taking 6 months instruction in thai at a university in bangkok. supposed to be very good.

I seem to recall that the Pattaya Language School (or Pattaya School of Languages) is very good. I think it's on North Pattaya Road close to Sukhumwit Road, but I could be totally wrong here. Not sure about the cost but don't think it's excessive.

 

A similar question was asked some time ago and I thought I had saved the answer on my PC but if I did, it's well hidden!
