Swimming with dolphins

I've seen on TV and a magazine that there's a place in Pattaya or nearby that kids can participate in an swimming event together with dolphins.

Can anybody tell me if it's true or not?WHere's located?DOes it worth it

I went there last year with the family and was very dissapointed with how run down the place was. I do not recommend.

It's the Sanctuary of Truth, I went around three years ago and had fun both at the Sanctuary and Dolphin show (with the exception of witnessing the rudest falangs I have ever seen in Thailand). It's out past the Dolphin Circle in north Pattaya. Take Naklua Road down awhile and take Naklua Soi 12 on the left towards water. Here is a link for a map:

Would list as a place to visit to see a different side of Thai history with the actual wooden building. The dolphin show is okay, but the look of enjoyment for people to hand feed the dolphins after the show is worth the effort. Just time your arrival so that you do wait for a long time fo the next show.

When I went to the Sanctuary of Truth this past January, they were no longer allowing the swimming with the dolphins. You can still feed them along with shaking their flipper.

They began construction on this place in 1981 and it is pretty impressive with all the detailed wood carvings. They have a couple of pricing packages, I took the cheapest at 500 baht which gives you a guided tour and a seat at the dolphin show. I think it was worth the price, however our guide told us that they were thinking of not allowing tourists to take pictures inside. If they have implemented this policy then I would not recommend the tour.

 

Some activities for an 11 year old would be swimming at either Pattaya Park or the Hard Rock pools. Movies at either the BigC or Royal Garden Mall and these places also have video games. Take her to one of the nicer salons and get her nails and hair done. If you go to the beach I would recommend that you take a day trip over to Koh Larn. At the beach you can ride the banana boat, go parasailing or rent a wave runner. There is also a few go kart tracks but maybe shes too young. I don't have any children so there are probably more things to do that other boardmembers can suggest.

 

I forgot one activity that is very popular for a female of any age and that is shopping for clothes and jewelry.

By the way do you know the transfer service rate from BKK airport to Pattaya hotel nowaday?

BKK to Pattaya between 1200 - 1600 depends on your luck. Walk out from the airport and ask the taxi drivers or the manager.

Pattaya to BKK 800 a metered taxi ( they can not appear on the meeting ) 1200 a private car. Order it in a tour operator owns an office, ask the private number of the person you ordered the car or taxi.
