I'm thinking of staying here - has anyone stayed here before and do they recommend it? I've heard it may be a bit far out.

Do you get charged for "guests?"

If you've paid for a double room though for 2 people and are only there 2 nights - what would they do if you brought a guest back - refuse entry or some big charge?

I would email them and ask. Worst case is they may try to hit you with a large joiner fee. If you are OK with that then go for it. Some hotels will try and charge 1000-1500 Baht joiner fee's.

Some "family" hotels really try to discourage us from staying by doing exactly that. I have never stayed a non guest friendly hotel and wouldn't. Plenty of very friendly hotels in BKK.

stayed there a couple of years back they are not guest freindly the joiner fee is 800bht and depending on who is on reception depends if you are charged or not .However the hotel is exellent value for money so even with the fee it's still great value

Stayed there about 5yr ago the rooms are big with big And I mean big beds .

Left on the beds at night is a note asking if you want the sheets changed No wonder as the sheets are huge and must be hard to wash.

From memory there is a dine/dance bar called the Tequila Bar where I think that after the bar shuts you could arrange with a service girl to share your bed but don`t quote me on that. Good food at a good cost and the music is great.

All the staff were top notch. There is a lounge area on the main floor where when you order a drink the girl who brings it to you kneels to put your drink along with a couple of pieces of finger food on your small table .A nice touch.

Enjoyed my 4 day stay.

Thanks guys - sounds good and I'll think I'll go for it. I'm only likely to be there one or two nights and would only have a girl back one night.

I plan to do a bit of shopping whilst there - it's not too badly located from that point of view is it?

it's not near the shopping area but they do have a free shuttle bus that goes to patpong but you can get out on the way taxi back cost you about 50p

I have stayed at the Amari boulivard and water gate many times

Happy to report Amari Atrium is guest friendly. However, we only stayed there one night with the girls we booked in with so not sure about different girls different nights.

stamboy, the Amari Atrium is not guest friendly if you take a girl back rather than check in with one they will hit you with a big joiner fee. I personally would'nt stay at a hotel that charges a joiner fee out of principle. No problem at the Amari Boulevard if you pay the corporate rate and a far better location IMHO? However they might also charge if you get it as part of a flight/hotel package.

Cheers tiss.

Tiss - I checked in with her and they took ID at the desk. It wasn't a problem. Besides, if you book a double room and pay for double room and breakfast how the hell can they charge u a joiner fee?

I just booked and ticked the optional honeymoon option!!!

Stamboy....you got a website address for this hotel please mate..!!!!!!!!!

it`s a fair way out of the action and is deffo NOT guest friendly. I would personally recommend the majestic grande, which although at about 38 quid is a little more, is on suk soi 2 right in the centre of things, is most certainly guest friendly and is brand spanking new!! website below.

I would also recommend the Majestic Grande. As besty says, for around 40 quid (incl taxes and breakfast x 2) you get a brand new 5 star hotel.

The Deluxe Grande rooms are good value at 3,900 Baht incl tax and b'fast which is pretty much what you would pay on Priceline for a standard room at the JW Marriott further up the Soi. There is no comparson between the rooms though.

Jeez they look good rooms!!

In fairness the Amari's good but it depends on your budget. We were only there one night but if we were there a few days I'd want to be somewhere nearer.

Millwall - I've PM'd you

I stayed there for three nights last year.

The hotel is nice, clean but far from the action.

As for bringing in guests they did charge me extra 800 baht per night.
