Land in Korat

Anyone know the current price of a rai of land in a small village setting say 40km NNE of Korat.

Hi,

 

it looks like nobody knows the conditions in Korat/Nakhon Ratchasima. I know some new land prices in a village NW Buriram city and closer to KK. 10 rais far away from the road 400 k, 3 rais at best location 3 millions but that included a nice house.

There is some property I am looking at outside Khorat. they are asking 200,000 baht for 18 rai. I offered 20,000 baht for 2 wai for the property next to my in laws house. I was just going to add it to theirs to make in a little bigger. (The have 1 rai.) Now suddenly she says she doesn't want to sell it after all. My wife's sister says that becuase the woman knows their is a new farang in the family. (I am the 3rd) the woman is just seeing if we will up the price.

 

I have no idea if any of those prices are typical, high or low. I will ask one of my farang cousins in laws that built a 3200 sq ft house on some property down the road. He has been living in Khorat for more than 3 years, he should have an idea.

Coyboy, I would be grateful.

 

I figure anything between 12,000 and 20,000 per rai depending on location regarding road. Any help/indication of realistic price would help

Excuse the stupid question. But, how big is a rai?

1,600 square meters

Here's some more measurements if your interested:

 

1 Talang Wah = 4 square meters

 

1 Ngan ( 400 sq m) = 100 Talang Wahs

 

1 Rai (1600 sq m) = 4 Ngans

 

1 Hectare (10,000 sq m) = 6.25 Rais

Your deal of 200,000 for 18 Rai sounds good. I was thinking about 15,000 baht per rai but would appreciate any comments you friend came up with

 

Because of a new temple being built close by a prospective seller in this village told me that drove the price per Rai from 40,000 baht to 120,000 baht per rai.

 

Thought I had not left Pattaya for a moment
