I have not been able to locate any "inside the room" Pictures of either LK Metropole Or Opey De Place apartments. I see LK has rates of 3000 baht for 1 bedroom . Is this worth it? Also if anyone has stayed there is it quiet for sleeping at night? And since I'm on the subject Nong Aparmtents look nice . Any comments .Thanks

Is LK Metropole the one up off second road by kiss restaurant. Rightsaid, Bazzup and I looked at the rooms recently and their rates start at 2k. very nice and classy.

I believe our mentor MM lives there.

I'm staying at the LK on a long term deal - the one bed suite which costs 3000 per night is knocked down to about 26000 Baht on a long term monthly deal. I think it is a very good deal considering the facilities and location. (I don't think I would fork out 3000 per night though).

It's on Soi Diana Inn - the Soi that runs up to Soi Buakao where Kiss food is.

Facilities: Swimming pool, gym, sauna, steam room. They are currently building a 'spa / massage' place as well.

The building is only about 9 months old I think. It feels clean, spacious and luxurious compared to some places that I have stayed. The rooms are great - large and well furnished. Nice balconies. I don't hear any street noise because the building is set back from the Soi.

I'll try and post some photos later on but I'm offshore on a shitty connection just now.....

I posted some pics in a thread about a month ago...search my posts to look for it. I'm using an Ipaq right now, so I don't have multiple windows to go check where the post is, sorry.

LK is nice, but it has a couple of design problems and construction deficiencies that make it somewhat annoying...hot water in showers disappears sporadicly, shower tubs not level and drain to the floor, rather than tub drain. Worst of all, now that they are building a spa, they have started charging outside massage services (like Eden Massage ) a 100% fee to provide resident a massage in their room...for example , if you have a foot massage (200b) the hotel wants 200b in addition. They charge massage girl, but guess who ends up paying ? Fucking outrageous!

On an email that they sent to Hub they mentioned that they charge a joiner fee of 300 baht, is that true or have they changed their policy?

There is no joiner fee for up to 2 people in the room (they say), but the third person will possibly get a 300B charge if they catch them.

Regarding the outside massage surcharge, the story is now that there will be no surcharge until their own in-house spa opens. After that, they are evaluating what to do.

I read somewhere that they had in-room UBC-Satellite TV, is that true???

,and 16500baht a month for a 6month+ stay, .....to good to be true???. :chogdee2 :P 1luv

They do have UBC satellite TV in the rooms. Sony Wega telly plus DVD player.

The 6 monthly rates are a big discount compared to what you would pay per night there.

I'm not sure about the 16500 Bhat rate but it would be something round about that price for a standard room. The 6 monthly rate for a suite is about 27000 Bhat with 5% discount on that rate if you pay for your six months in advance.

The rates quoted below are a bit out of date - they have increased a little bit, so I would guess that the 6 monthly rate for a standard room is nearer 17000 or 18000 B per month. Still a good deal though.

For anyone interested in the LK check out this site:

The BigD suite looks impressive, but at 10K per night its 2500 more than what I pay for a month. Soi 7 and myself looked at a few of their rooms for OnMyWay last month. One of those 2 bedroom suites had a large bookcase and desk in the master bedroom. The desk was so large that Bill Clinton could have done Monica and her bigger sister on it. :chogdee2

They upgraded the system last week and added Sophon Cable + UBC Satellite combination...or something like that. They claim they have 60+ channels now. I guess that's a lot. I haven't checked their claim, however.

"LK Metropole is a very nice place Emil looked at the 1 bedroom and it is VERY NICE makes the President Group hotels in Bangkok look like motel 6. "

No shit, jing jing?

After your recommendation last year Larry, I've stayed in a couple of the better suites in President Solitaire in Bangkok on occasion and I was very pleased.

Haven't decided yet which direction I'm going yet: it's either high-end or an apartment on Soi Buekow. Of course, with 48 hours before I leave it will probably be decided once I'm on the ground... :nod

Is LK Metro decidedly better than Pinewood?
