Hello Gents,

In need of some advice, returning again for 3 weeks Dec-Jan,golfing again and trying to find accomadation .

Gents lots of places full or expensive,Flipper, Lex ect.

I have reduced it down to 2 places.

Ma Maison small but looks good and the food should be OK. 1100Baht

The other option is the ROYAL TWIN PALACE HOTEL, 1100Baht with their membership card.

I have seen all the other reviews so really just need some up to date review if any of you have stayed there.

Any help would be appreciated

Ma Maison is OK but for 100 baht more you can have de-luxe room at the Sandy just across the Soi far better. Girl friendley, internet access 56k only

Fasteddy,

I am going to be in Pattaya for 3 weeks Nov 19 - Dec 10. I believe I'm going to book at Ma Maison. It looks very nice, and I agree with you, the food sounds good.

I'm more leaning towards this smaller type hotel, with the resturant and all. Although I could be very wrong, for this is my FIRST trip to LOS, and I'm basing all my plans on a lot of luck and a prayer.

I don't think they charge for guests either, from everything I've heard. I just sent them an email and asked if they do.

I'll let you know what they say about guests.

I use Ma Maison every trip to Pattaya, and have stayed there a dozen or so times. I am surprised at the 1100baht rate. This has shot up considerably. Previously it was 700baht till 1st Nov then 900baht till either April or May 1st. (that's a 22% hike in one hit). :finger

This new rate puts them out of my usual ceiling of a grand!

Mind you, over the past year, they have added new rooms and renovated the r/rant and kitchen. I wonder if your rate is for one of the newer bigger rooms?

Yes the food is good, but the thai food is a bit overpriced I feel - wont stop your TG tucking into it of course! I usually walk us over to Kiss for the routine late breakfast.

Overall a good place to stay and you cant beat the location IMHO.

Cheers, Lemons

For those interested.

I did in fact book at Ma Maison. I am getting thier mini-suite for the 1100 baht. I hope it's worth it.

Overall it looks to be a nice little place.

Only thing I'm wondering now is, if I get there and feel I've made a bad choice, how easy would it be, mid Nov, to find another hotel. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Thanks for the input.

needitbad,

You wont have a problem. If Ma Maison isn't your cup of tea, you'll be spoilt for choice! In Soi 13 alone, there are about 6 other hotels.

(Can you say hello to Rafael for me when you get there - from Nick)

Cheers, Lemons

Just in case your not aware, the Golden Crab right next to the Ma Maison has a 6 floor expansion project going on. It was scheduled for completion around January so by Novemeber the construction noise should be limited to the finish work. Depending on the location of your room it could be just a few meters away from this project.
