Bringing an 80 year old lady to thailand

Recommended Posts

I'm bringing my 80 year old Grandma over to see my dad in Pattaya in Feb.

Shes been wanting to come for years and this is a good time to do it. Bless her...

My question is do i need to get her immunised for anything?

Also is there anything else i need to be aware of? Visa probs or anything?

Thanks in advance

Definitely check with her doctor first. I would think some shots might be needed for the elderly, since they have weaker immune systems. I think that is awesome she is coming to Thailand.

I took both of elderly parents to Thailand a few years ago to meet my wifes family and they loved it!

Didn't reed any visa requirments other than the norm and didn't need any old folks vaccines either.

The only thing you might want to bring is medicine for the shits and be careful being out in the hot weather for long periods of time.

The worst part was getting them to stop talking about it after they got home!

two years later and they're still the town experts on Asia...

:allright

Believe it or not Thailand is one of the best countries to bring an elderly realative for a holiday. mate of mine has his 84 year old mum up here twice a year for 3 to 4 weeks at a time. He goes on as usual, takes mum out when going for a few beers & if he needs to take of somewhere speacial there is always some of the thai girls that will take her out for the day. She loves it ,has a very open mind as to how the girls survive & gets on well with all of them. Just makes sure she gets plenty of rest & bring her over during the cooler time of the year. March , April, May can be a killer for people not used to the heat.

Sure they will love it. I bring my parents out twice a year, Dad 80 Mother ...not quite so old....they love it with a passion, although they do spend over 80% of their time at the Royal Cliff. They need me for help getting there and we meet up a couple of times for dinner...apart from that, I spend most of my time in central pattaya. Worst thing for my father is the uneven pavements....but what the hell...get a baht bus, even if it's just for 200 yards. :hairout

Good topis this one, cause in late March I will be bring my mum (68 years old)along with my Thai wife over for 3 1/2 weeks (I reckon though mum will find the heat a bit too much for that long).

Mum has an open mind and wants to meets some of wifey's friends and the reles of course.

Should be interesting to say the least.

Also wheres good to take them to visit?

I thought of:

Nong Nooch

That temple with the bronze statues doing martial arts and stuff (near the big gold buddah painted on the mountain)

Maybe the tiger zoo?

Yes all those are good, but just take her down walking st early,a place like stoneys

with maybe a drink in her hand, and she can watch the world go by.and be amazed as i still am,,,and then later the one of the seafood rest,
